The leadership opportunity We're offering an incredible opportunity for a talented individual to lead the data engineering functions that support our AWM Analytics teams to deliver client outcomes at scale. What this role involves You are a technical leader who owns delivery outcomes for multiple teams (typically 4-6). You ensure excellence in technical design and solutions, drive cross‑team collaboration, practice strong stakeholder management, empower/coach/challenge crew, evolve work practices to leverage Generative AI and emerging tech, and ensure tight alignment to product priorities. Core responsibilities: * Lead & grow a 15-20 person data engineering function: set the bar for engineering excellence; hire, develop, and retain top talent. * Own delivery outcomes: plan and sequence work across teams; remove impediments; uphold SLAs for data products/pipelines that power AWM Analytics. * Leverage Generative AI and other technologies to boost engineer productivity and data‑product quality (e.g., code assistants, test generation, common frameworks). * Partner across the enterprise (AWMT Architecture Office, CDAO, PI Tech) to advance data engineering maturity, evolve our tech stack, and align to architecture roadmaps. * Elevate team culture: create an energizing, mission‑oriented environment. Qualifications * 10+ years in data engineering (or adjacent), including experience leading multi‑team technical delivery. * Demonstrated experience scaling data products/pipelines on a cloud‑native stack. * Strong grounding in DataOps (observability, CI/CD, testing, quality/lineage) and FinOps (cost modeling, governance). * Executive‑ready stakeholder management; ability to translate complex technical trade‑offs into business outcomes. * Domain knowledge in advice, wealth management, and investor data preferred.
