A Day in the Life of a Banfield VeterinaryAssistant The VetAssistant provides professional, efficient and exceptional service at all times, making sure that clients and pets are comfortable in the hospital.
You will use your technical skills on a daily basis, within state practice acts and as outlined in the NAVTA guidelines for veterinaryassistant skills and duties.

VeterinaryAssistant - Full Time
Locations: PawMed Charleston & PawMed Summerville
PawMed is looking for an Experienced full-time VeterinaryAssistant to join our growing Pet Med team! If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, can prioritize patients based on urgency, and enjoy working as part of a collaborative team, we want to hear from you.
What You'll Do:
* Triage patients and identify critical needs
* Administer medications and perform venipuncture on dogs and cats
* Assist with restraint techniques for dogs and cats
* Support daily clinic operations across both Charleston and Summerville locations
* Work alongside our new surgeon and veterinary team as our services continue to grow
* Must have at least 2 years of VeterinaryAssisting Experience
Our Caseload:
* Weekdays: 15-20 patients/day
* Weekends: May exceed 20 patients/day
Conditions You'll Help Treat:
* Vomiting, diarrhea, fever, dehydration
* Ear/eye infections, skin problems, allergies, fleas/ticks
* Cuts, scrapes, lacerations, burns, broken nails, paw injuries
* Limping, fractures, difficulty urinating, decreased appetite
* Toxic exposures (rat poison, pesticides, etc.)
* Euthanasia support

* Confidence and skill in handling pets of all sizes and temperaments.
* Strong organizational and communication skills.
* Proficiency in fundamental veterinary skills ranging from laboratory and pharmacy to nursing and radiology is a strong asset.
