Babcox Media owns and operates more than a dozen market-leading media brands including but not limited to Tire Review, BodyShop Business, Shop Owner, Fleet Equipment, and Motorcycle & Powersports news.
The Video Editor will support the video department by managing and assisting in video production, shoot planning and execution, editing, assembling, formatting and distribution of recorded video footage that matches our customer's vision. This position brings sight and sound together to tell a cohesive story.
Duties/Responsibilities include:
Manage production of in-house video features, including:
Custom video direction
Video editorial/content planning
Misc. video production responsibilities as assigned
Setup and teardown of cameras, microphones and props.
Aiding in the direction of talent.
Organization and cleanup of equipment and studio space.
Editing captured audio and video into online features.
Acquisition of photos, videos, and other images for features.
Export and distribution of final video files.
Assists with SEO and Social Media program for various publications.
Performs other duties as requested.
Manages custom and brand series projects; MPN, Tire Review, Coats.
Coordinates/Directs productions in the field.
Coordinates with Freelancers on a project by project basis.
Skills/Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in media/film production or similar preferred;
At a minimum, 3 - 4 years of experience in video post-production;
Strong technical experience with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Premiere Pro and Photoshop are required. Experience with After Effects and Illustrator is preferred);
Demonstrable video editing ability, with exceptional accuracy and thoroughness, timing, pacing and composition;
Audio production experience preferred;
Trade/industry writing experience preferred;
Experience with video distribution services (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.), specifically the administration of accounts on such services;
Experience with social media websites (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.), specifically creating content for posting to social sites;
WordPress experience a plus;
Ability to learn industry demographics and adapt to any changes;

Overview

QUALIFICATIONS + SKILLS

The Video Producer will be responsible for creating engaging video content for social media posts and ads, television commercials, and corporate videos. You will manage the entire production process-from conceptualization and shooting to editing and post-production-ensuring each project aligns with our clients' marketing goals. This role also includes overseeing our green screen studio and coordinating all technical aspects, including lighting, sound, and creative scriptwriting.
Key Responsibilities:
Video Production:
Plan, shoot, and edit video content in line with client objectives and agency standards.
Create engaging video content specifically tailored for social media posts and ads, television commercials, and corporate videos.
Utilize expert knowledge of lighting, sound, and camera operation to produce visually appealing content.
Apply creative scriptwriting techniques to craft compelling narratives.
Green Screen Studio Management:
Operate and oversee all aspects of the green screen studio, ensuring optimal set-up and performance.
Maintain equipment and studio environments to support high-quality production.
Post-Production:
Use Adobe Creative Cloud applications, specifically Premiere Pro and After Effects, for video editing and motion graphics.
Leverage knowledge of Motion as an added advantage to enhance production quality.
Client Communication:
Serve as a primary point of contact for clients during production, ensuring clear communication and a smooth creative process.
Collaborate with clients to understand their vision and translate it into an effective visual narrative.
Project Management:
Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail.
Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of production experience in video production.
Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud, with hands-on experience in Premiere Pro and After Effects.
Demonstrable expertise in lighting, sound, shooting, creative scriptwriting, and editing.
Proven experience creating engaging video content for social media posts and ads, television commercials, and corporate videos.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Excellent interpersonal and client-facing communication skills.

Working closely with the Multimedia Director, Creative Director and VP, Creative Services, the Senior Video Editor ensures that every deliverable from high-production brand spots and docuseries to agile social edits and advertising placements reflects the bespoke positioning held by Flexjet and the global luxury brands that it collaborates with while engaging audiences with clarity, imagination and impact.
The ideal candidate is equal parts storyteller and technician: a vibe-attuned editor with a deep understanding and capability of creating with various levels of pacing, rhythm, and narrative who also thrives in the technical rigor of color grading, sound design, motion graphics integration, and multi-platform export standards. This individual will set the bar for editorial excellence as the production team continues on its growth trajectory and art direct other editors or freelancers as needed, all while working crossfunctionally with the broader Creative Services group.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Editorial Craft & Creative Execution
Edit short-form and long-form content across a
range of formats, including brand films, social media spots, event highlight reels, custom digital ad placements and internal communications
Interpret creative briefs and translate concepts into visually compelling and emotionally engaging narratives
Maintain brand consistency in tone, pacing, and aesthetic across all creative outputs
Execute advanced editorial techniques such as
sound design, color correction, motion graphics integration, and visual effects to complete projects and also guide the future onboarding of specialists in these areas
Prepare multiple deliverables optimized for web, broadcast, event displays and social platforms
Project Management & Workflow Ownership
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining editorial excellence
Oversee and organize post-production workflows, including file management, proxy editing, and delivery pipelines
Establish and uphold technical standards for video exports, storage, and archiving
Collaborate with the Multimedia Director to scope editing timelines and resource needs for upcoming projects
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with external and internal Producers,
Directors, and Designers to align edits with broader creative intent and campaign objectives
Work closely with the Social Media and Digital teams to adapt video content for platform-specific requirements
Collaborate with the Events and Content teams to create compelling highlight reels, executive hype reels and documentary-style storytelling
When needed, liaise with external production vendors and freelance editors, providing oversight and creative direction to ensure brand alignment
Leadership & Mentorship
Provide guidance and feedback to other internal editors, freelance talent, or motion graphics collaborators with Creative Services
Champion editorial best practices within the Multimedia team and across the Creative Services group

QUALIFICATIONS + SKILLS
Bachelor s degree in Film + Video Production,
Multimedia, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
6-8+ years of professional video editing
experience, ideally within luxury, lifestyle, travel, fashion or other industry with a range of similar aesthetics and creative attributes
Proven portfolio demonstrating a mastery of editorial storytelling across formats (brand films, commercials, social content, digital, product promotions, etc.).
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro,
After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, and/or related editing/ production software
Enthusiasm for luxury and aviation products, brands, lifestyles and trends
Strong technical knowledge of codecs, color workflows, audio mixing, and delivery specifications
Experience managing multiple deadlines, with
