What you'll be doing: Development of business relationships and securing of work on all types of airports Development of strategy and oversight of implementation on a wide range of airport projects to include federal and state-funded airport improvement programs, as well as locally funded projects at both public and private use airports Development of contract specifications and bid estimates Coordination of engineering design staff and other disciplines to meet objectives Cooperation with other Volkert disciplines to cross-sell aviation-related services to clients throughout the Southeast Region's footprint What you need to have: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or equivalent 10+ years of progressive experience in civil engineering Registration as a Professional Engineer with the Florida Board of Professional Engineers or ability to obtain registration within 3 months Design experience on FAA and State DOT aviation projects within an assigned client base Experience in business development Ability to hire, manage, and motivate staff Proven existing relationships with airports in Florida Management experience with all aspects of a project: grant facilitation, design, bidding, construction administration, and close out to meet project goals on time and on budget A track record of compliance with the objectives of individual airport master plans, federal grant assurance requirements, FAA and state design standards, and project scopes of work Knowledge of and experience in the application of FAA Advisory Circulars for airport design and construction, including runways, taxiways, aircraft parking aprons, grading/drainage, and pavement markings Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Proficient knowledge of general office equipment, MS Office, Faarfield, etc. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
