Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI)- Corporate
Serving those who serve others. The Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Department supports the programs of VOALA through data collection and validation, identifying, describing, and analyzing strengths and problems and then supporting the Evaluation Department and the Programs as they implement and update best practices. JOB SUMMARY AND PURPOSE
The Data Monitor will review data collected for clients accessing various residential programs of VOALA. The following duties may be handled in conjunction with Funder staff, and Program staff where applicable.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Review and validate data entries for accuracy, consistency, and completeness across various systems or reports.
Identify and correct data discrepancies, errors, or omissions in collaboration with data entry staff or program teams.
Ensure compliance with organizational data standards, policies, KPIs, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain documentation of data review processes, findings, and corrective actions.
Support data quality audits and assist in preparing reports and KPIs for internal and external stakeholders.

JOB SUMMARY AND PURPOSE
The Academic Tutor supervises academic tutoring sessions to help program participants develop the skills required to master academic course material in specific subjects such as Math, English, Science, etc. as stated by the Lead Tutor. The Project Advisor is responsible for preparing participants for high school graduation and post-secondary education. The services and activities performed by the Project Advisor will enhance motivation and improve graduation rates, including coordination of tutorial services, college and career advising, academic achievement monitoring, college and career tours.

Student Support Functions

HEAD START/EARLY HEAD START
Through our Head Start and Early Head Start programs, we work with children (ages 0 - 5) and their families to provide the skills, confidence and stable home life necessary for a smooth transition into kindergarten and beyond. Children also receive a broad array of health services including screenings and referrals, maintenance of immunization schedules, nutrition assessments and follow-ups, mental health assessments as part of initial screenings, and determination if any developmental or physical delays are present. JOB SUMMARY AND PURPOSE

BAG & PERSON SCREENING: Monitors search all participants' person and belongings being brought into the shelter each time a participant enters. Patrol premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates, etc. walking the facility and making reports as needed.

Set up materials and prepare the classroom for the day's activities.

Mentor students about the college experience
Present and lead workshops on topics around college/careers/financial literacy/leadership development as needed
Monitor and supervise students during field trips when needed

Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to pass a fingerprint clearance, background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications
EDUCATION:
Current college freshman or higher with a mastery of target subject
Minimum of 3.0 GPA in area of competency in high school
EXPERIENCE:
1 year of tutoring or related experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Professional or personal experience in overcoming barriers similar to those confronting the students

NUTRITION DEPARTMENT
VOALA operates two kitchens in support our programs, providing meals for our participants:
JOB SUMMARY AND PURPOSE
This position will have the responsibility of preparing all meals and packaging them for delivery to all the program sites and clean up after the food has been prepared. The nutrition aide also maintains food production and follows regulations required by the programs, agency, and State/Federal agencies such as CACFP and Head Start.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will have the responsibility of preparing all meals and packaging them for delivery to all the program sites and clean up after the food has been prepared. Prepare, cook and serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, for on-premises dining and delivery to remote sites.
Prepare raw food for cooking by washing, peeling, cutting and seasoning;
monitor food during cooking process including testing, turning and/or stirring;
regulate cooking temperatures of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters, etc.
properly package meals for delivery as required.
Maintain food inventory and prepare food supply order; ensure proper food storage temperatures and rotate stored food properly
Perform regular kitchen and storage area clean up: sweep/mop floors, wash/scrub sinks, ovens, stove and grill. Maintain highest levels of sanitation as required by local and government regulations.
Maintain safe environment at all times in accordance with industry standards and safety regulations
Other duties as assigned
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Prepares main dishes, vegetables, deserts and snacks for children ages 1 -11 according to menu, recipes, cacfp regulations, and individual children's needs and instructions.
Wash and clean cooking utensils, equipment and maintain a safe and sanitary food service environment.
Order food supplies and manage the storage of items according to established procedures.
Maintain an inventory and record of food service items including quantities and specifications
Attend meetings and trainings as designated by agency and/or as deemed necessary by Supervisor.
Monitor Food allergies

Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:

TB clearance within 6 months prior
Annual Influenza vaccination (between Nov. 1st - Mar. 31st)
Pertussis (whooping cough) and measles immunization

Requires ability to interact with children in a busy environment including, but not limited to:
Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Frequently kneel and squat
Ability to move quickly
EDUCATION:
Must be able to read and write legibly in English and have general knowledge of current health and nutrition concepts.
First Aid/CPR certified
Food handler certification
EXPERIENCE:
On the job training provided
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma
Certifications in public health, Nutrition education, Food safety, or related field.
Work experience in Head Start/Early Head Start programs.
Knowledge of CA driving laws.
Knowledge of nutrition practices and allergy restrictions/food substitutions.
Bilingual English/Spanish or other language i.e. Armenian or Farsi.
Perform other duties as assigned. Works well in a team and independently.
Promotes nutrition curriculum, activities, and initiatives.
