Machine Operator III - All 3 shifts SUMMARY - Set-up, adjust and safely operate on a variety of machines to cut and slot partitions from several types of roll stock to specifications. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Work from pattern to mount and adjust dies, guides, feed, speed, tension, etc. Recognize any and all operating problems and make adjustments to accommodate subtle stock variations, worn dies, humidity, etc. May move and change rolls, make routine machine repairs, including lubrication. Move strip loads and scrap loads. Operate machines and hand tools, hand and power trucks. Use the following inspection and test gear: board gauge, rule, patterns and stop watch (to time production speed). Full responsibility for set-ups and/or work preparation. Seek coordinator's help under unusual circumstances. Responsible for product quality. (Set-ups are checked by others.) Record and report times and material produced. Record and report production and/or equipment problems. May answer questions in stacking and packing procedures. Report personnel inadequacies. Participate in cross-training.
