Engineer | Dayton Fairfield Inn Water Street
Shaner Hotels 3.9
Dayton, OH
Ready for a job where no two days are the same? If you thrive on variety and love being the go-to problem solver, this is the role for you. We're looking for someone who's up for a flexible schedule - weekends, holidays, and those shifts that keep the place running round the clock.
You'll be the one guests look to when something's not quite right, handling complaints with skill and making sure everyone leaves happy. You'll hold our standards high, keeping the place spotless and running smoothly, while following all safety and security procedures without missing a beat. Inventory checks and regular upkeep? That'll be on your list, too. And just when you think your day's predictable - surprise! You'll tackle other duties as they come up, always keeping things interesting.
What You'll Do
Step into the shoes of our Engineer and become the backbone of the operation. You'll keep things running, from ice machines and refrigeration to air handling units and everything in between. Preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and general repairs - you'll do it all, making sure we always hit the mark for quality and guest comfort, Shaner Hotels style.
You're not just good with machines. You're great with people - going the extra mile to turn small hiccups into glowing reviews. We need someone who knows commercial refrigeration systems inside and out, and can quickly get to the bottom of any issues with chiller systems or air handling units. General maintenance? You've got that covered, too. It's a full-time role with benefits, and yes, some evenings, weekends, and holidays will come your way.
What You Bring
You know hotels. Ideally, you've got two years (or more) under your belt - bonus points if you've worked in a franchised property. You're familiar with all the mechanical equipment that keeps a building humming, and you know how to handle chemicals the right way, every time.
Deadlines? You meet them. Prioritizing tasks? It's second nature. You're comfortable with the paperwork-the manuals, the rules, the instructions. Most importantly, you know how to connect with people: quick to jump in when a teammate or guest needs help, always focused on solutions.
A valid driver's license and a clean record are must-haves.
Sound like your kind of gig? We can't wait to meet you.
