How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Robotic Welder, you will be responsible for setting-up, operating, and maintaining robotic welding equipment, including programming the robot, loading and unloading materials, monitoring the welding process, inspecting weld quality, and ensuring safety protocols are followed to produce welded metal components according to specifications.

1. Safety
Follow all safety rules and adhere to core value of business
Maintain general work areas and/or equipment used in a clean and orderly condition
Ensure proper and effective operation of machine and tools throughout entire process. Report repairs and/or issues to team lead or supervisor
2. Quality
Confirm material, sizes, and parts match work order/job tickets
Ensure all parts and surfaces are free from defects
Able to self-monitor quality of own work, and report to lead or supervisor unusual, defective, or operating difficulties
Complete all tasks and work within designed quality guidelines
Accurately document work performed using company required documents and procedures
3. Delivery
Machine setup, positioning of fixtures, clamping parts, and setting welding parameters based on blueprints and work instructions
Able to create and modify robot welding programs using specialized software to define the welding path and parameters
Visually inspect welds for quality assurance, including checking for proper penetration, bead appearance, and dimensional accuracy
Diagnose and resolve minor issues with the robot and welding process
Complete tasks as directed with minimum supervision
4. Culture

Team player, assisting other team members and departments as needed with other duties not routine to position
Punctual, on time, ready to work designated shift, every day
What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)
We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:
Required Experience
Prior experience in manual or semi-automatic welding processes like MIG, or TIG welding
Familiarity with robotic programing software, even if it is basic knowledge to modify existing programs
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Mechanically inclined
Basic math skills
Strong attention to detail and quality, working within precise limits and/or standards of accuracy
Overhead crane operation
Self-driven, able to work independently, and as a team
Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Education & Certifications
High school diploma or equivalent
