Position Overview
The Human Resources Manager is an experienced, detail-oriented HR professional who thrives on building efficient and equitable HR systems within a dynamic and growing charter school organization. This role is responsible for leading day-to-day HR operations, including onboarding, compliance, HRIS management, payroll coordination, benefits administration, and HR process improvement.
Reporting directly to the Director of Talent & HR, the HR Manager collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, particularly the Executive Assistant and network operations team, to ensure a seamless and positive employee experience from onboarding through offboarding.
The ideal candidate is a solutions-oriented, systems thinker who enjoys both designing and improving HR processes and rolling up their sleeves to execute daily HR operations. They bring a strong equity lens, excellent judgment, and the ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters. Experience in a fast-paced, mission-driven, or rapidly growing organization, particularly in education, is strongly preferred.

Core Responsibilities
HR Systems and Compliance
Design, codify, and maintain HR systems that ensure legal compliance, operational efficiency, and an excellent employee experience.
Partner with the Director of Talent & HR to update and implement HR policies and procedures aligned with California and charter school requirements.
Maintain accurate and organized personnel files, HRIS data integrity, credentialing compliance, and staff licensure tracking.
Manage all credentialing workflows, including monitoring renewal timelines, supporting teachers and student-facing staff through credentialing pathways, and coordinating with external partners as needed.
Support Yu Ming's unique immigration and visa processes, including coordination with immigration counsel, managing documentation, assisting employees through onboarding and renewal steps, and ensuring full compliance with federal requirements.
Oversee benefits administration and serve as the primary liaison between employees and benefits providers.
Partner with the back-office provider to ensure timely, accurate bi-monthly payroll.
Ensure all onboarding, offboarding, I-9 verification, credentialing, and required employee documentation processes are completed efficiently and in compliance with regulations.
Collaborate with the Executive Assistant to ensure consistent, high-quality onboarding logistics for all new hires.
HR Operations & Cross-Organizational Systems
Analyze and improve existing HR processes to increase clarity, efficiency, and cross-functional alignment.
Build and document HR processes using consistent frameworks that promote transparency and ease of use across the organization.
Provide responsive guidance to staff and managers on day-to-day HR matters, including policies, benefits, payroll, and procedures.
Serve as a point of contact for employees navigating credentialing, visa sponsorship, and immigration-related questions, escalating complex matters when appropriate.
Support the Director of Talent & HR with employee relations documentation, coordination, and follow-up.
Promote an employee-centered approach to HR operations aligned with Yu Ming's values and DEI commitments.
Strategic Partnership & Leadership Growth
Serve as a thought partner to the Director of Talent & HR on system improvements, workforce planning, and organizational culture initiatives.
Contribute to HR and Talent team projects related to performance management, compensation processes, employee engagement, and retention.
Model inclusive leadership and support organization-wide efforts to strengthen culture and belonging.
Develop capabilities to take on expanded HR responsibilities over time, including potential pathways for future leadership growth.
Qualifications
2-5 years in a HR or operations role, preferably in an education setting
Experience in a mission-driven organization, preferably in education
Commitment to Yu Ming's mission and strong DEI leadership
Superb interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds
Excellent computer skills and competence with technology tools including Google Suite and database management (CRM, HRIS, ATS)

Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Special Education teacher reports to the Yu Ming Charter School Director of Student Support Services. The role of the Special Education Teacher is to improve students success in basic academics (reading, language and/or math, etc.) through implementing Yu Ming approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; modeling the necessary skills to perform assignments; providing a safe and optimal learning environment and providing feedback to students, classroom teachers, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure that the student experiences gains through the academic goals outlined both within their IEPs and by Yu Ming standards
Evaluate students' abilities in basic academics for the purpose of assisting other personnel in the support of learning disorders, development of remediation plans and/or student progress
Provide one-to-one instruction, direct services and push in or pull out intervention as required by IEP
Administer assessment, interpreting results to determine learners' strengths and areas of need for IEPs
Provide accommodations and/or modifications for assignments and testing as determined by the IEP team
Perform a variety of specialized tasks: draft and write professional and compliant IEPs, maintain records, meet schedule and compliance deadlines
Instruct students for the purpose of improving their success in assigned basic academic subject areas of reading, writing and/or math
Manage student behavior for the purpose of providing a safe and optimal learning environment, develops behavior support plans and collaborates with staff on behaviors as needed
Participates in various meetings as needed (IEP, SST, Parent Conferences, Professional Development and Training, Staff Meetings etc.)
Ensures full compliance with legal requirements as prescribed by federal law under IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities in Education Act 1997) and IDEIA (Individuals with Disabilities in Education Improvement Act, 2004) and State of California Education Code
Collaborate with school personnel, parents, and other service providers for the purpose of improving the quality of student outcomes, developing solutions, and planning curriculum

QUALIFICATIONS
Required
B.A. or B.S.
Valid Special Education Teacher Credential for Mild/ Moderate or Moderate/Severe disabilities, or enrolled in an accredited teacher preparation program working towards a credential. Must be qualified for Intern Credential at time of application.
Knowledge of curriculum, education code and special education law/policies
Skills in appropriate special subject matter

M.A. or M.S. in Education or Subject Area

JOB OVERVIEW
The Speech and Language Pathologist will provide speech and language services to assist students grades TK-8 with a variety of language disabilities. The SLP will conduct speech and language assessments, diagnose speech and language handicaps, and recommend appropriate remediation procedures and program placements for the student. S/He will also provide consultation to teachers to meet the speech and language needs of the student in regular and special education, as well as build communication tools and provide training to help support the student's access and involvement in the general education setting.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Address students' language, voice, fluency, articulation, or hearing needs through speech therapy.
* Conduct screenings and/or evaluations of the student. Evaluation includes standardized test results, parent conference and contact and collaboration with all other private professional persons or agencies which contribute to the total evaluation.
* Delivers direct service interventions and monitors student progress in pre-referral interventions.
* Provides leadership and serves as a professional member of the IEP team.
* Participates in placement, follow up decisions and development of an appropriate individual educational plan (IEP)
* Reevaluates student with speech and language needs on a regular basis (minimally every three years) to determine appropriateness of placement and remediation strategies, and to help in the determination of on-going eligibility.
* Participates in development, management, and evaluation of Yu Ming's speech and language program and consults with staff regarding other special education services and supports.
* Monitors and ensures educational benefit (FAPE) for students with identified speech and language needs.
* Serves as a resource to staff, students, and/or families for specialized speech and language services.
* Confers with the Education Specialist to coordinate and implement specialized speech and language services.
* Works cooperatively with administrators and other personnel to ensure compliance with special education laws and procedures.
* Designs and implements ongoing in-service programs for counselors, teachers, parents, guardians, administrators, and other professional staff.
* Makes presentations to and consults with school staff, parent/teacher organizations, student study teams, service groups, etc., concerning speech and language development of children.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
* B.A. or B.S.
* Valid California Pupil Personnel Services credential authorizing holder to provide students with speech and language therapy.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Principal of Yu Ming Charter School (YMCS) at the Adeline Campus collaborates with Yu Ming's Principal team, Director of Academics, and Chief Academic Officer in the development, coordination, articulation, and evaluation of curriculum, instruction, professional development, and assessment. RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direction of the School Principal, the ECP Site Manager is responsible for the overall planning, implementation, and daily management of the Extended Care Program (ECP) at their school site. This includes supervising staff, ensuring high-quality programming, and maintaining consistent communication with families. The following is a list of key responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Program Leadership & Oversight
Oversee overall ECP program operations at the school site, including scheduling, planning, and coordination of daily activities in partnership with the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP) Manager
Coordinate the use of classrooms and shared spaces for ECP, enrichment, and other after school programming
Perform other related duties as assigned
Staff Supervision & Support
Supervise, coach, and support ECP staff in delivering engaging, developmentally appropriate academic, enrichment, and recreational programming
Communicate effectively and professionally with ECP staff, Principal, ELOP Manager, enrichment providers, and families
Family & Community Engagement
Serve as the primary point of contact for parents and guardians, providing regular updates about the program and student experience
Collaborate with school-day staff to support student behavior and continuity of care, particularly when behavioral challenges extend into the after school program
Student Support & Culture
Ensure a safe and supportive environment for students and staff
Foster an inclusive and supportive environment for a diverse student population, using restorative practices and culturally responsive approaches to build community and address behavior
Operations & Administration
Maintain and order site supplies and equipment as needed
Keep accurate and up-to-date records, including student attendance, snack sheets, and staff timecards
Monitor and collect late fees
Maintain cleanliness and organization of all spaces used during after school hours
Responsible for closing and securing the school site at the end of the day
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma
Associate or Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is a plus
Experience working in camps or afterschool programs in a leadership role
Basic computer skills including Google Suite applications
Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally both orally and in writing; fluent in English
Ability to speak Spanish, Mandarin, or other secondary language is a plus
Strong organizational, time management and multitasking skills
Superb interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds

POSITION OVERVIEW
English Language Development (ELD) Instructors work under the guidance of School Administrators and the Director of Academics, in close collaboration with English Literacy Teachers, to support the academic growth of English Language Learners (ELLs). ELD Instructors are responsible for delivering targeted English language instruction to small groups of students who are acquiring English as a second or additional language. They play a key role in promoting student achievement by providing high-quality, differentiated instruction that meets the diverse linguistic needs of learners. In addition to classroom instruction, ELD Instructors support students' language development by offering personalized guidance and academic support. They are also responsible for administering the English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC) and using assessment data to inform instruction and monitor student progress.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Use Amplify CKLA Language Studio curriculum to teach designated ELD lessons to small groups of students in grades K-2.
Administer the Initial and Summative English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC) in compliance with state and district guidelines.
Collaborate with classroom teachers, English Literacy staff, and school leadership regularly to support the integration of language development across content areas.
Develop and implement lesson plans that are culturally responsive, linguistically appropriate, and tailored to students individual proficiency levels.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, ELD portfolios, and language proficiency assessments.
Deliver targeted English Language Development (ELD) instruction to small groups of English Language Learners (ELLs), aligned with state standards and language proficiency goals.
Use formative and summative assessment data to monitor student progress, inform instruction, and adjust teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
Support the development of students academic vocabulary, listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in English.
Participate in professional development opportunities focused on English language acquisition, instructional strategies, and cultural competency.

Under general supervision of the Site Manager and After School Staff, performs a variety of duties related to supporting K-4 students at one of our Lower School Campuses.

JOB OVERVIEW
The Speech and Language Pathologist will provide speech and language services to assist students grades TK-8 with a variety of language disabilities. The SLP will conduct speech and language assessments, diagnose speech and language handicaps, and recommend appropriate remediation procedures and program placements for the student. S/He will also provide consultation to teachers to meet the speech and language needs of the student in regular and special education, as well as build communication tools and provide training to help support the students access and involvement in the general education setting.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Address students language, voice, fluency, articulation, or hearing needs through speech therapy.
Conduct screenings and/or evaluations of the student. Evaluation includes standardized test results, parent conference and contact and collaboration with all other private professional persons or agencies which contribute to the total evaluation.
Delivers direct service interventions and monitors student progress in pre-referral interventions.
Provides leadership and serves as a professional member of the IEP team.

Reevaluates student with speech and language needs on a regular basis (minimally every three years) to determine appropriateness of placement and remediation strategies, and to help in the determination of on-going eligibility.
Participates in development, management, and evaluation of Yu Mings speech and language program and consults with staff regarding other special education services and supports.
Monitors and ensures educational benefit (FAPE) for students with identified speech and language needs.
Serves as a resource to staff, students, and/or families for specialized speech and language services.
Confers with the Education Specialist to coordinate and implement specialized speech and language services.
Works cooperatively with administrators and other personnel to ensure compliance with special education laws and procedures.
Designs and implements ongoing in-service programs for counselors, teachers, parents, guardians, administrators, and other professional staff.
Makes presentations to and consults with school staff, parent/teacher organizations, student study teams, service groups, etc., concerning speech and language development of children.

Under general supervision of the Site Manager, performs a variety of duties related to supporting K-4 students at one of our Lower School Campuses or Grades 5-8 students at our Upper School Campus.

The Principal of Yu Ming Charter School (YMCS) at the Adeline Campus collaborates with Yu Mings Principal team, Director of Academics, and Chief Academic Officer in the development, coordination, articulation, and evaluation of curriculum, instruction, professional development, and assessment. Under the direction of the School Principal, the ECP Site Manager is responsible for the overall planning, implementation, and daily management of the Extended Care Program (ECP) at their school site. Teaches all academic areas based on the provided lesson plan
Supervises students in the classroom, in the cafeteria, and/or on the blacktop as needed
Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
Follows school expectations to ensure the safety of the students
Reports all student injuries, accidents, illnesses, and discipline problems to the appropriate authority
Returns instructional materials, equipment, and keys to proper place
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
B.A. or B.S.
Possess a valid CA Teaching Credential or Emergency 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit
Preferred
Experience as a substitute or classroom teacher highly preferred
Superb interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively
Flexibility and adaptability to change
Maturity, humility, strong work ethic, sense of humor, and a solutions-oriented attitude

TIME COMMITMENT
The person filling this position will be able to accept assignments at will. We prefer candidates who can accept at least 2-3 assignments per month as that leads to a more reliable and successful sub pool.
COMPENSATION
$37/hour
