Under supervision, the Engineer Trainee will plan, schedule, and coordinate assigned project and process engineering work; monitor work for compliance with applicable specifications, codes, and generally accepted engineering practices. This role requires effective communication and coordination with various departments and personnel both internal and external to Simplot on assigned projects. The Engineer Trainee will gather and compile costs and other data pertaining to the project, ensuring that the project runs efficiently and on schedule. Job Description To coordinate and provide equipment and facility set-up for meetings, conferences, and special events; provide customer service to building patrons; monitor facility use and ensure conformance with policies and procedures; perform facility maintenance and cleaning; perform related work. The successful candidate will perform heavy-duty cleaning and related maintenance work in an assigned area or building complex; provide customer service to building patrons; monitor facility use and ensure conformance with policies and procedures; provide limited equipment and facility set-up for meetings, conferences, and special events; perform related work. Office hours are typically Monday through Friday, and work is performed on a consistent schedule consistent with the needs of the university. On call or after-hours work may be necessary due to the nature of the responsibilities. This position is not eligible for remote work. This work involves repetitively lifting and carrying items weighing up to 60 pounds; standing and walking during eight-hour shift; bending, stooping, climbing stairs and ladders, and operating lifts. Positions require working up to 30 feet above floor level. Incumbents must have sufficient speech & hearing acuity to perform customer service activities. This position is not eligible for new visa sponsorship at this time. Candidates who already hold valid U.S. work authorization may be considered. Key Responsibilities Facility Maintenance and Cleaning: * Performs comprehensive cleaning and sanitation of all facility areas, including restrooms, furniture, floors, and windows. * Handles waste removal and proper use of cleaning products and equipment, including floor refinishing and light bulb replacement. * The ability to work a regular schedule consistent with the needs of the university is an essential function of this position. Event Setup and Safety: * Interprets event plans, arranges equipment (seating, tables, staging, AV), and ensures compliance with safety regulations. * Monitors facility for safety and security, responding to incidents (theft, vandalism, etc.) and recommending solutions. Customer Service and Support: * Provides customer assistance, resolves complaints, and fulfills last-minute requests related to room setup and AV equipment. * Offers directions and event information to customers and visitors. * All other reasonable duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Some knowledge of: * Adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing whole numbers. Experience: * Providing customer service. * Explaining and applying policies and procedures. * Using tools, equipment, materials, and common practices used in facility preparation including custodial work. * Setting work priorities. * Interpreting written and oral instructions. Specialty Requirement * These positions at ISU require a valid driver's license. Additional Information The anticipated compensation rate for this role is $16.75 per hour, commensurate with education and experience.
