    **Job Title: Bindery Operator** **Job Description** Join our team as a Bindery Operator where you will play a crucial role in producing saddle-stitched and trimmed booklets by operating an automated bindery finishing machine. Your expertise will ensure high-quality printed products by jogging, cutting, folding, and binding paper using a variety of equipment. **Responsibilities** + Bind sheets of paper or signatures into complete booklets using an automated bindery finishing machine. + Jog and cut paper and board stock to required sizes for printing and trim finished products. + Operate folding machines to fold sheets of paper into folders or signatures. + Operate small binding machines, drills, and perform manual binding operations including tabbing, laminating, and collating. + Review job tickets, layout sheets, artwork, and specifications before starting a job and clarify any questions. + Set up, operate, and maintain bindery and finishing equipment. + Maintain a clean and safe work area around binding equipment. + Record the quantity of completed products and materials used on job tickets and time sheets. + Operate manual and battery-operated lift jacks. + Maintain quality control standards for all jobs. + Pull and label run samples with tags. + Participate in formal quality programs such as Statistical Process Control (SPC) or Total Quality Management (TQM) when requested. **Essential Skills** + Experience in machine operation, bindery, cutter, or folding. + Experience with print press operations or relevant machine operations. + Ability to prevent errors and solve problems in binding machine operations. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Familiarity with printing press, mail processing, and extrusion. + Experience in a print shop or operating bindery machines. **Why Work Here?** This company offers an excellent opportunity for growth by training entry-level candidates to gain valuable industry experience. The fabrication shop environment can be dirty, and personal protective equipment such as jeans, work-appropriate shirts, steel-toed boots, weld helmets, and safety glasses are required. The location is small, with 15-20 people, but there are plans to move to a larger site, offering future leadership opportunities. The ideal candidate will align with the company's culture, environment, and effort requirements.
