Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc. Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures. Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex. urine or fecal) as required.
Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
Fully understand all of the physicians' orders.
Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
Check all test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure 100% correct.
Package specimens for transport
Stores specimen sample according to required temperature, places samples in appropriate collection container/ tube, accurately labels, follows different procedures as outlined by specific to protocol deemed necessary for transport to maintain integrity of the specimen.
Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
Attends annual department trainings
Answer telephone calls, read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.Qualifications:
Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting
Reliable transportation with at least 4 years of licensed driving experience and possess a valid driver's license issued in the state of residence.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

What You Will Do in This Role
· Demonstrate the ability to perform contrast media administration according to age- and weight-specific guidelines.
· Set up sterile trays and maintain a sterile field according to hospital protocol.
· Scrub and assist the interventional physician during interventional procedures.
· Demonstrate knowledge of drugs, including their actions, side effects, and contraindications for administration.
· Exhibit the ability to start and maintain IV access. Accurately follow physician orders, document exam completion in Meditech, scan documents, and verify images in PACS.
· Properly measure and dispose of radioactive waste in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
What Qualifications You Will Need
Candidates must have one of the following:
Current license or registry certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) - or the ability to obtain this advanced registration within one year of hire.
Current license or registry from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology and licensed through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as a Registered Radiologic Technologist [RT (R) ].
Current license or registry as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Additional requirements:
· BLS certification required.
· Completion of ACLS training within six months of hire.
· Strong interpersonal skills to successfully interact with patients, guests, physicians, and other employees.
· Minimum of one year of experience in a Cath Lab or EP Lab preferred.
· New graduates of RCIS programs will also be considered.
