Responsibilities Responsible for business development and overall account management within assigned and emerging life sciences and pharmaceutical companies resulting in achievement of annual revenue targets and company engagement across the Association. As a member of the National Corporate Relations team, this role will also work closely with the clinical studies department supporting the growth and sustainability of the Association's work in obesity, cardiogenic shock, and overall clinical studies services. This person will work collaboratively with other Strategic Account Directors to identify opportunities in those areas and bring forward value propositions related to Association capabilities and external opportunities. The ability to build relationships with both internal and external parties and understand organizational priorities in line with the Association's mission is critical to success. This candidate will work with their assigned organizations to understand their strategic priorities, pipeline, budget, and uncover and translate opportunities for engagement. Meet with assigned companies to develop a pathway for Association engagement to ultimately drive revenue toward our mission with a strategic account management approach. Work within peer group to support the growth and sustainability of the Association's work in Obesity and in Clinical Studies across all accounts. Facilitate relationships with accounts at all levels and in various business units, for long-term engagement with the Association. Work across internal departments to develop solutions and work toward our mission that meets the needs and budget of the funder. Lead strategic meetings with companies to connect external opportunities to internal capabilities and develop agendas and facilitate those discussions. Engage with the Association field to align opportunities for local market engagement. Work to actively engage with and secure new accounts. Attend and meet with funders at key Scientific Conferences, most typically three conferences per year. Write and negotiate contracts. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Five (5) years of successful account management, and sales experience, with proven history of success in related field. Experience in life sciences, real world evidence, research and clinical development is preferred. Demonstrated ability to consult and interact internally across a large matrixed organization. Responsibilities This individual will be a clinical implementation lead for a cohort of specific markets in the national Cardiovascular Kidney Metabolic Health (CKMH) initiative. Responsible for supporting systematic assessments and improvements of clinical practice habits related to CKM syndrome, operational processes, data flow, and other related quality improvement activities. This position will also work closely with several different departments within the national office to ensure success. Provides individualized and group consultation, resources, and specific troubleshooting to support clinical change management and quality improvement. Provides consultation, direction, and support through learning collaboratives/cohorts to identify strategies for improving outcomes as it relates to evidence-based approaches for CKM care. Works with health system participants to assess and establish health system interdisciplinary teams. Develops clinical decision support tools and work collaboratively with clinicians and other healthcare professionals to implement systematic efforts in improving care. Works with inpatient and outpatient clinical care teams to address barriers to guideline adoption and enhance clinical workflows for improved patient outcomes. Works closely with designated market team to develop program implementation and quality improvement strategies in alignment with initiative objectives. Builds relationships with health system and site care teams and initiative volunteers. Collaboratively facilitates learning cohort meetings in coordination with volunteers and staff partners. Utilizes the Association's registries for inpatient and outpatient care to monitor key metrics for trends, impact of interventions, and improvements in patient outcomes. Supports users in understanding key initiative clinical measures and their application within the registry tools. Responsible for monitoring progress, sharing solutions, and seeking additional expertise and resources as needed. Serves as point person for ongoing resources needed by hospitals and clinics to sustain knowledge (via online education, articles, etc.). Responsible for developing market-level and national collections of health system activations, process changes, and health outcomes to monitor and evaluate impact Strategizing and maintaining a portfolio of nationally available resources Communicates regularly with Senior Program Consultant, Clinical Implementation to assure tasks are completed according to grant timeline. Works with cross-functional teams to build buy-in and ensure grant deliverables are met. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience Three (3) years of relevant experience Skilled in translating clinical content for non-clinical audiences and speaking to a variety of audiences Skilled in interpreting data to understand trends and iterate program delivery Clinical knowledge/experience working with clinical practice guidelines and patient engagement and adherence strategies Quality improvement knowledge/skills regarding various methodologies (e.g. Lean Six Sigma, PDSA) and comfort in analyzing data for performance improvement opportunities Experience in healthcare or in a public health-related organization: clinical, quality improvement, program development,, and systems improvement. Experience/training in practice facilitation Experience in using data to drive clinical quality improvement interventions, monitor impact, and react to trends. Project management skills and experience; experience in influencing performance without direct line accountability Skilled in working with clinical audiences to impact change management related to patient outcomes Basic knowledge and understanding of healthcare information technology, such as e-medical records, healthcare IT or related systems, or database functions Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills and excellent oral and written communication Ability to work in a team environment and interact with all levels of American Heart Association staff, volunteers, and the public Comprehensive Microsoft Office suite skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Ability to travel up to 20% with overnight stay Preferred Experience: Four (4) to Five (5) years of relevant experience Master's degree in clinical field and/or quality improvement certification (e.g. RN, RD, CPHQ) Knowledge of cardiovascular kidney metabolic health, and CVD risk factors Experience leading regional or national quality improvement initiatives, learning collaboratives, and/or establishing health system multidisciplinary teams Experience in making and disseminating clinical materials and creating programmatic assets. Experience interpreting Clinical Quality Measures (CQM) and Electronic Clinical Quality Measures (eCQM) logic preferred. Compensation & Benefits The expected pay range will be $75,000 - $85,900 .
