Responsibilities * Installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes. * Ensures a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task. * Properly follows all company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment. * Reports any problems to the Foreman, Superintendent, Safety Manager, or Human Resources Manager. * Signals operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and materials. * Follows direction of Foreman for daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or jobsite * May be called upon to run small power tools such as jack hammer, drills, grinders, etc. * Digs, spreads, and levels construction materials, tools and supplies. * Lifts, carries and holds material, tools and supplies. * Maintains regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required. * Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components (not energized). * Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, to ensure compatibility and safety of system * Use a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment, such as ammeters, or test lamps. * Work from ladders, scaffolds, or roofs to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures. * Place conduit, pipes, or tubing, inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes. * Fasten small metal or plastic boxes to walls to house electrical switches or outlets. * Construct or fabricate parts, using hand tools, according to specifications. * Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit or moving or lifting heavy objects. * Other duties as assigned. SAFETY * Responsible for ensuring OSHA standards and company safety policies are always complied with including but not limited to operation of tools, equipment and machinery. * Corrects unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately. Qualifications * Current State of California Electrician Trainee certification required. * A minimum of two to five years of experience working as an electrician on residential, commercial and/or industrial projects. * Basic understanding of residential electrical codes and installation methods * Ability to verify compliance and functionality of installations. * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to listen and comprehend instructions accurately to learn products, processes, safety procedures, installation techniques and equipment use. * Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, including whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Pay range: $24.00 - $30.00/hr depending on experience
