Job Description
Position Purpose:
Under the authority of the Chief Electrical Maintenance and Instrumentation, the electrician / electro-mechanic will be responsible for the proper functioning of the medium and low voltage electrical installations of the data center.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
Maintain and maintain the equipment, property and electrical systems of the building.
Identify and diagnose faults, irregularities and failures, and promptly implement corrective actions.
Follow up on service requests and monitor the interventions performed.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance using the Maximo Maintenance Management System.
Participate in the implementation of the plan and the maintenance ranges.
Manage loads and load shedding.
Read and interpret schematics, circuit diagrams and code requirements and standards.
Monitor installations through the BMS (Building Management System).
Locate and isolate faults in electrical and electronic systems, remove and replace defective components.
Respect the standards of health and safety at work.
Ensure quality requirements and standards, as well as compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
Work Environment:
Rotating shift (day, night and weekend).
Qualifications
Education/Experience/Background:
High School Diploma/GED is required.
Diploma of Professional Studies in Electricity or Diploma of Collegial Studies in Electromechanics or Equivalence.
Experience in the industrial sector and in thermography (asset).
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of the Quebec Electrical Code and applicable CSA standards.
Low and medium voltage knowledge.
Strong attention to detail.
Efficient time management skills to organize and manage multiple deadlines.
Teamwork, excellent communicator, autonomous and organized.
Ability to make good diagnoses and make good, analytical investigations.
Sense of detail, priorities and good customer service.
Required Certification/Licenses/Training:
Industrial electrician in maintenance with qualification C (asset).
Own the ASP card (asset).

Job Summary: Responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing, or installing electrical components in a commercial setting. The person who occupies this position must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such an individual or others in the workplace. Essential Job Duties: (
Included but not limited to)
Must possess the ability to plan the layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
Use a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment, such as oscilloscopes, ammeters, or test lamps.
Inspect electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
Place conduit and pipes, in walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.
Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
Selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.
Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in accordance with local, state, and national electrical codes.
Perform electrical inspections and troubleshoot electrical issues.
Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
Install and connect wiring, outlets, switches, and fixtures.
Test electrical systems for functionality and safety
Collaborate with other tradespeople to complete projects on time and within budget.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean work area.

Question the need for additional safety precautions, if believed to be necessary for the safe completion of the job.
Inspect all tools and equipment before each use to ensure good working conditions.

Attend daily toolbox safety meetings and scheduled training sessions.

Required Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience:
Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent apprenticeship.
Must adhere to safety protocol, and work in a drug-free environment.
Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the trade you are applying for and have a knowledgeable understanding of the craft work being performed.
Must have knowledge of safety rules and regulations and learn client and company policy.

Proficient in computer, text, and email skills
Proficient in using power tools and electrical testing equipment.
