Role and Responsibilities This position supports the dredge with the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of the Electrical, Instrumentation, and Automation (EIA) system. This position will be under the direct supervision of the Electrical, Instrumentation, and Automation Manager. * Electrical system includes installation, troubleshooting, the repair of AC/DC and synchronous motors, MCC's switchgears, controls, fault protection relays, breakers, and transformers. * Instrumentation system includes installation, troubleshooting, and repair of Instrumentation that includes Pressure Transmitters, flow meters, level transducers, RTD/Thermocouple temperature sensors, light switches, proximity switches, encoders, etc. * Automation systems include the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of PLC and computer systems, network switches, and any other related components. Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in accordance with local, state, and national electrical codes. Perform electrical inspections and troubleshoot electrical issues. Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams. Install and connect wiring, outlets, switches, and fixtures. Test electrical systems for functionality and safety Collaborate with other tradespeople to complete projects on time and within budget. Never take directions or changes to assigned work from Client personnel without first checking with the Supervisor. Attend daily toolbox safety meetings and scheduled training sessions. Inspect their work site continuously to ensure that unsafe conditions do not exist. Required Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience: Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent apprenticeship. Must adhere to safety protocol, and work in a drug-free environment. Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the trade you are applying for and have a knowledgeable understanding of the craft work being performed. Must have knowledge of safety rules and regulations and learn client and company policy. Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) Experience working with high voltage and low voltage systems. Familiarity with reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams. Basic knowledge of frame carpentry for installation purposes Physical Requirements: Ability to pass a Fit for Duty Screening Position will require working in all weather (hot/cold muddy) conditions High noise environment Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; and working around construction machinery. Must be able to lift to 50 lbs. Subject to repetitive use of hands/arms, and legs Hand/eye coordination Hearing and comprehension are necessary for giving and receiving directions Will be performing tasks involving physical labor on construction projects. May operate hand and power tools of all types. Climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds. Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry objects on a frequent basis.
