Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for repairs and installation of wiring, motors, transformers, generators, lighting, and other electrical systems. Determines type and cost of materials required for the projects, ensures specifications and drawings are accurate, and reviews projects and plans.
Installs, repairs, and maintains motors, transformers, generators, lights, appliances, circuits, wiring, and other electrical system equipment and components in compliance with electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
Operates a variety of electrical testing equipment in locating and determining types of electrical malfunctions.
Studies plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirements and sequence of repairs and/or installations.
Repairs and maintains high voltage systems.
Trains and supervises apprentices.
Troubleshoots, tests, and repairs emergency generators and various electrical systems and power distribution systems to ensure that they are working properly.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
4 - 7 years work experience as an electrician.
License as a Journeyman or Electrician preferred to meet state requirements.
A High School Diploma is required; prefer some trade or technical school classes.
Knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials common to the electrical trade.
Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations.

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Industrial Electrician Purpose:
The Industrial Electrician is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on Industrial electrical equipment and systems. Compensation:

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:
Ability to do both mechanical and electrical maintenance work including some ladder logic programming.
Ability to program and troubleshoot PLC's and work on VFD's.
Read and interpret electrical schematics.
Demonstrate the initiative to investigate and offer improvements to our plant operation.
Direct and train others to install, maintain, or repair electrical writing and equipment. Be able to provide expert knowledge and guidance to other employees in your field.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:
Must be familiar with medium voltage (480-volt 3 Phase) and be comfortable doing diagnostic and troubleshooting on this type of system.
Must be familiar with basic industrial controls (i.e., momentary start/stop circuit for a motor starter).
Must be familiar with a 3-phase motor starter as well as the corresponding overload assembly.
Must be familiar with industrial electrical control devices (photo eye, proximity sensor, limit switch).
Must be familiar with basic Pneumatic valves and controls.
Familiarity with Variable Frequency Drives (VFD's) a plus.
Familiarity hydraulic servo motion and hydraulic motion control a plus.
Familiarity with troubleshooting and diagnosing a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) a plus.
Familiarity with basic programming and manipulating of a PLC a significant plus.
Minimum Qualifications:
Proven experience as an electrician.
Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, electrical schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations
Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components
Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators, reactors, electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems.
Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records.
Diagnose and correct PLC programming problems to minimize downtime.
Diagnose, repair and or replace electrical components of machines including but not limited to motors, relays, overloads, cables, switches, sensors, and variable speed drives.
Experience in industrial and/or commercial electrical systems.
Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g., wire strippers, voltmeter etc.) and electrical drawings and blueprints.
Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines.
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
Excellent physical condition and flexibility to work long shifts.
Ability to lift, push or pull at least 50lbs; maneuver in tight spaces, and manipulate heavy equipment. Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and regulations. Knowledge of industrial control system.
Education Requirements:
A graduate with an A.A.S degree or Certificate from an accredited electrical trade school program and successfully pass job-related skill assessment tests.

Summary Description
Under the field supervision of a Journeyperson or Foreperson, performs various tasks related to the installation of commercial and industrial electrical systems.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
Completes appropriate level of apprentice course work and tracks on-the-job training.
Assists with the installation of branch conduit systems.
Assists with the installation of branch wire systems.
Assists with the installation of distribution conduit systems.
Assists with the installation of distribution wire systems.
Assists with the installation of branch devices.
Assists with the installation of underground systems.
Assists with assembling appropriate tools and materials for the task on a daily basis.
Safeguards and maintains Tri-M equipment, material, tools, and vehicles.
Job Qualifications
Skills/Educational Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalency.
Must enroll in and actively participate in an approved Apprenticeship Training Program.
Good mechanical aptitude.
Good work ethic.
Self-starter and ability to follow directions.
Must have reliable transportation to and from the assigned work location/office.
Must maintain a valid driver's license and good driving record.
Ability and willingness to stay away on job sites, as needed
Ability and willingness to drive company vehicles as needed.
Ability and willingness to travel regionally to jobsites as needed.

Physical Requirements:

Lifting weights of 0 to 75 lbs. at the following frequencies: continuous lifting of 10 to 35 lbs.; frequent lifting of 35 to 50 lbs.; occasional lifting of 50 to 75 lbs.; sizes & shapes of objects vary from concrete blocks to cylinders to 10' lengths of metallic conduit and 20' lengths of PVC conduit; average carry requirements, 60 lbs. for 40'
Ability to lift from floor to above shoulder
Repetitive use of hands includes: continuous grasping up to 50 lbs.; frequent pushing and pulling of 50 to 75 lbs.; and fine motor coordination for receptacle installation and wire terminations
Repetitive use of feet is required for operating heavy equipment, conduit benders and vertical climbing
Vision adequate for blueprint reading and color coding for wire identification
Balance adequate for continuous climbing of ladders, scaffolds, and lifts and for working from heights.
Environmental factors may include working in temperature extremes of 0° F to 100° F up to 8 hours inside or outside and atmospheric exposure to dust, gases, fumes, and odors within the Permissible Exposure Limits (PEL).
Special hazards include exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and potentially explosive hazards
Personal protective equipment includes use of hard hat, safety glasses, protected-toe boots, and appropriate gloves for the task.
