    **Work Place Flexibility:** Onsite **Legal Entity:** Entergy Louisiana, LLC ***These positions may be filled as a Helper-Line&Service Dept, or Apprentice 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th Year based on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidates.*** ***The below description is reflective of a Journeyman Lineman, and the role's requirements, duties and responsibilities adjust according to the job level.*** **JOB QUALIFICATIONS:** Under directive supervision, with some latitude for planning or laying out of working details, must be able to do the most complicated construction and maintenance work on dead or energized transmission and underground or overhead distribution conductors, structures and equipment, and be qualified to do the following and related work as assigned: + Make all types of transformer installations; do phasing and check rotation on circuits; trace and clear grounds and opens on series circuits. + Do all classes of hot line tool work. + Reeve blocks. + Plan and lay out all work in a safe and efficient manner. + Check, handle and be responsible for all material removed from and returned to stock, and prepare reports and records. + Act in capacity of supervisor when authorized. + Direct work of assistants, instruct and train new employees. + Follow Safety Action Plan "SAP" expectations according to minimum required qualifications. **EXPERIENCE AND SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:** + Learn/Know Company's safety rules, and be able to administer all approved methods of resuscitation, and be able to render practical first aid on or off the ground. + Know the location of, and be able to operate, all of the firefighting equipment. About this Role Steps one and two gave the Apprentice the basic skills to use the common tools and techniques associated with powerline work. Step two introduced the Apprentice to energized secondary work to teach them the principles of live work. During step three the Apprentice will begin energized primary work. This position is responsible for working in a line crew on overhead and underground construction and maintenance of distribution systems. This position is responsible for responding to and correcting problems with the electrical distribution system during normal working hours, after hours, nights, weekends and holidays. Job Responsibilities Candidate must safely perform any work normally or reasonably required in this classification. This position builds, maintains, inspects, trouble-shoots, replaces, and repairs distribution power lines, poles, and related equipment according to Company specifications and manufacturer's recommendations. Successful candidate will review work orders and determine material needed to complete jobs; along with being able to safely load wire coils, poles, equipment, and materials onto trucks. Candidate is responsible for using hand tools to assemble materials, connectors, brackets, and other equipment in preparation for installation on pole-lines or underground systems. This position frequently works aerially from a ladder, lift bucket, and pole-climbing tools to remove/replace/repair equipment. Successful candidate must climb utility poles and other structures. This position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining tools/trucks. Successful candidate must maintain regular attendance and comply with all safety procedures, practices, and requirements. Candidate must be able to effectively communicate in person, by radio, and by phone to various company personnel in the normal course of duties. If this position is filled as an apprentice, the applicant will complete a prescribed Journeyman Development Program.
