Job Description Job Summary Under close supervision, performs a wide variety of repetitive and non-repetitive bench or line mechanical subassembly and assembly operations of a semi-skilled nature to produce products, making required minor adjustments in the assemblies as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Follows production drawings, sample assemblies and verbal instructions with close supervision. Understands and applies established acceptable workmanship practices to all facets of mechanical assembly. Interprets and works from schematics, drawings, work instructions and bills of material to understand the required parts and steps needed to complete the assigned assembly. Makes accurate mathematical calculations and uses precision measuring instruments as required. Uses a wide variety of hand and power tools to perform skilled fitting and assembly work. Inspect parts and performs basic tests. Tends machines, such as arbor presses or riveting machine, to perform force fitting or fastening operations on assembly line. Works at different workstations as production needs require. Works on line where tasks vary as different model of same article moves along line. Performs basic testing, assembly and or disassembly of mechanical assemblies using both traditional and non-traditional tooling such as multimeter, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, power supply, function generator, LCD meter, screwdriver, torque wrench, standard wrench, etc. Works on assembled components, requiring manual dexterity and the ability to work with simple hand tools, soldering equipment, volt meters and other related test instrumentation. Knowledge of cleaning, lead preparation, component mounting, parts orientation. Positions and aligns parts in specified relationship to each other in jig, fixture, or other holding device. Crimps, stakes, screws, bolts, rivets, welds, solders, cements, press fits, or performs similar operations to join or secure parts in place. May perform other simple assembly tasks such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, etching, impregnating, and color-coding parts and assemblies. Adjusts or trims materials from components to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics. May perform hand soldering using a soldering iron. May perform work (soldering and general inspection) under microscope. Performs online go-not-go testing and inspection to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards. Troubleshoots and replaces defects of finished products. Reworks and repairs defective units rejected by inspection or test personnel. Follows safety procedures in the use and handling of flammable and hazardous chemicals required to meet all cleanliness specifications. Must be able to follow specific procedures and detailed instructions completely. Ensures that quality checks are completed throughout the manufacturing process. TSC's is seeking a Temporary Assembler, I at our Huntsville, AL Discovery location to support our production division. Responsibilities: Performs basic and intricate electronic/electro-mechanical assembly functions on prototype and production type hardware according to company workmanship standards and military or client specifications. Assists in the development and wiring of engineering models and in the development of assembly methods and wire lists. Uses hand or power tools to trim, shim, cut, and make other adjustments to fit components together and align them properly. May assist in instructing and training lower level assemblers. Reads and interprets wiring lists and assembly drawings and Works to work orders using visual aids, ECN's, and schematics. May perform any rework from test failures in accordance with standard repair procedures and may set up and operate automatic prepping, loading, and insertion equipment. Secures and maintains correct component parts and supplies required for the operation. Yulista Integrated Solutions LLCRegular PRIMARY FUNCTION Assemble Kits made of Electrical / Mechanical Components and Fasteners. Perform Assembly of Cable / Wire Harnesses Electrical / Mechanical Wire and Component Integration on Assemblies made of Composites and Metal Material to IPC/WHMA-A-620 and 610 standards. Position requires ability to read and interpret Drawings, Specifications, Part Numbers, and their Descriptions including markings and workmanship requirements for acceptability. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Reading drawing, using tools, commutation with co-workers and supervisor, dealing with multiple jobs at any given time. • Ability to follow a process. • Review Drawings, Bills of Material, for Part Description of Electrical / Mechanical Components, Fasteners, Wires, Connectors, Washers, Spacers, and similar types of parts • Assemble kits using kitting instructions with accurately reading parts, quantities, revisions • Assemble Wire Harness, Cable Assemblies using shop tools such as wrenches, torque drivers, hand tools, Go - No-Go Gages • Accurately assemble, troubleshoot and repair complexed Electrical and or Mechanical Parts using either an example or from Assembly drawings, Instructions, or schematics with minimal supervision • Have solder and harness hands-on experience per IPC-610 & 620 class 3 specifications. • Has knowledge and skillset to instruct co-workers with job training and fabrication set-ups • Fill forms, record data, verify count accuracy, check assembly description, dimensions, size, color • A background and previous work experience in Aerospace, Aviation, Defense, Military, Army with a similar experience is considered a plus • Other duties as assigned SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities. This position has the responsibility and authority to carry out assigned tasks. However, personnel who demonstrate consistent leadership & communication skills, combined with technical knowledge, quick and proactive involvement with people and processes are generally considered for promotion as a Lead and subsequently acquire greater roles and success within the organization.
