No experience with cake decorating? No problem! If you are creative and looking to sharpen your decorating skills - this position is for you! Assemble and prepare soft serve and Blizzard cakes (or ready to decorate cakes may be used), including decorating with icing, gel, drawings, decorating kits, air brush, edible images and letterings. Ensure all cake products meet the Dairy Queen standards of quality and excellence. May be required to meet requirements of all other staff positions. Prepare and decorate cake products according to customer specifications and all applicable standards and procedures. Properly and safely operate and maintain DQ cake and soft serve equipment while following all health and safety standards. Maintain an adequate inventory of decorated cakes at all times, including back-up cakes during holidays, national promotions and other peak cake occasions. Keep Dairy Queen display freezer full at all times to the proper level with a variety of cakes attractively displayed. Job Description Sweet Mary's Bakery is Downtown Akron, Ohio is currently looking for one part-time Cake & Cookie Decorator to join our growing team. The position will be 2-3 days per week but could grow into more as we get busier. Fridays & Saturdays a must, but hours can be somewhat flexible. Though we will fully train on our techniques and style, we are looking for someone with prior industry experience in buttercream, filling, frosting and decorating layer cakes & cookies, and who is able to demonstrate these skills in an interview. From-scratch baking & food styling experience is a big plus, as is general versatility and willingness to learn. Pay is commensurate with experience, starting at $14/hour + your share of tips. CAKE DECORATOR & SKILLED FINISH CLERK: Production Clerk working in the Department's Manufacturing Section and responsible for performing skilled finishing work with cakes and specialty items. This person's primary duties include following the production schedule, icing cakes and specialty items, applying custom or more general decorations, creating art work, packaging, and producing related novelty items within the guidelines set for the Department. Secondary duties assume related activities as required or assigned and including those performed by a less specialized Production Clerk. Availability: Must be available to be scheduled 35+hrs a week, including nights and weekends, based on department needs. Previous Work Experience: Experience with bakery finishing and cake decoration preferred. Physical Demands: lifting to 50#; occasional lifting to 80#.
