Assist in performing unskilled to semi-skilled maintenance, repair and construction of District buildings and equipment in one or more of the building maintenance trades including locksmith, carpentry, electrical, painting, plumbing, heating and air conditioning.     Job Title: Head Coach Responsible to: District Athletic Director, Principals and Superintendent General Description: • Coaching in various secondary school interscholastic athletic programs. • Promote sports in the schools and community. • Plan the assigned specific sport program. • Organize and supervise practices. • Enforces all rules of the KHSAA related to his/her sport. • Teach individual fundamental skills, team play, team strategy and rules and regulations of the game, with a particular emphasis on sportsmanship, and oversee out-of-season conditioning programs. • Check eligibility of participants, including insurance coverage and parental consent. • Provide students a proper role model, emotional support, patience, a friendly attitude and general guidance. • Recommend the purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms and work fully within the financial guidelines established by the SBDM Council. • Take ownership for the operations of any booster club. • Perform all other related duties as assigned by the principal. • Assigns duties to coaching staff. • Assists Athletic Director in recruiting and hiring all coaches. • Maintains accurate statistics, records, and results of the season. • Adheres to the Estill County Public Schools Coaches Handbook. • Works closely with the Athletic Director to schedule facility use. • Works cooperatively with all Estill County coaches, athletic directors and students. Work-Related Requirements and Characteristics: • Working knowledge of athletic programs • Understanding of KHSAA rules and procedures • Ability to communicate effectively • Individuals wishing to seek employment, as a head coach at the secondary level, shall meet all of the guidelines set forth by the Kentucky High School Athletic Association under Bylaw 27. • Follow all KHSAA Bylaws and SBDM Policies related to the operation of their respective program and the eligibility of student athletes. • Successful completion of a criminal records check. • Completion and maintenance of KHSAA and/or Estill County Schools requirements (CPR, KHSAA Safety Course, Fundamentals of Coaching, etc.)
