Plan and deliver reading intervention programs to address dyslexia and related disorders. Evaluate, collect student data and collaborate with other interventionists, dyslexia lead interventionists, special education staff, campus staff, dyslexia specialist, and coordinator to determine appropriate intervention, classroom adaptations, and placement. Qualifications & Requirements Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution is required (Education, or related field preferred). Certification: Texas teaching certification preferred - ability to obtain certification within two years. Experience: Prior teaching experience preferred, especially in a K-12 setting. Demonstrated success in fostering student achievement and language acquisition. Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of TEKS for French and language proficiency standards. Days per Year: 187 Min: 62,750 JOB TITLE: ELA Interventionist REPORTS TO: Principal WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Exempt PAY GRADE: Teacher Salary Scale PRIMARY PURPOSE: The ELA Interventionist is responsible for implementing the District's instructional program and educational philosophy in the subject area or grade level designated in accordance with District goals, policies and procedures. The ELA/Reading Interventionist supports teachers in their efforts to prepare students to increase their academic performance to meet state standards.
