Reporting to the VP, Legal and managing a team of legal privacy experts, this attorney will lead the Company's privacy and AI legal functions and continue to build the governance program. They will provide teams from across the Company with actionable legal advice on new and evolving state and federal consumer and health privacy and AI laws, rules, and regulations impacting the products and services offered through the Company. Strong candidates will have 12+ years of experience practicing at a law firm, in government and/or in-house, with 5+ years of advising on privacy related issues (including healthcare and consumer privacy) and 2+ years of advising on AI related issues. Job Description This is an in-house counsel role in Commercial Litigation, which is within the Law and Regulation's Global Litigation group. The group principally manages complex commercial litigation and matters faced by the company and its subsidiaries and affiliates, including consumer class actions and challenges to core business practices and procedures. The Commercial Litigation team also provides advice and counsel to the business with respect to litigation strategies and on emerging legal issues and risks.Key Responsibilities Managing lawsuits and other legal disputes, including active oversight of and direction to outside counsel in defense of such matters Interviewing and retaining law firms / outside counsel, including establishing and managing budgets Reviewing and developing appropriate strategies for assigned matters Attending court appearances, as appropriate, including significant hearings, and trials Travel may be required as needed for internal business meetings, court appearances, and mediations. Reviewing and revising pleadings, motions and significant case filings Serving as strategic partner to the business and collaborating with other law department teams, providing reports on substantive developments in legal matters, as well as advice and counsel on emerging issues and legal/litigation risks, risk mitigation strategies, and legal compliance Assessing and incorporating AI-driven efficiencies in legal workflows, including drafting, research, and document review, while maintaining rigorous attorney oversight. Education & Experience 7+ years of hands-on complex litigation experience, which includes commercial litigation, class action litigation, business disputes, breach of contract and other related commercial litigation matters. J.D. from an accredited institution and active state bar license in good standing Motivated self-starter with legal acumen and business knowledge An engaged team player who values collaboration and shared success Growth mindset toward technology; comfortable adopting or learning AI-enabled tools for drafting, research, discovery, and work-product refinement, with attention to confidentiality and verification.
