This role is central to advancing metabolomics research across the Institute, providing critical expertise in analytical methods, laboratory workflows, and data analysis. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Perform sample preparation, extraction, and analysis using a variety of metabolomics platforms. Collect and process data generated from metabolomic experiments, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and consistency. QUALIFICATIONS Education A master's degree in Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Metabolomics, or a related field. Experience Minimum of 1-2 years of hands-on laboratory experience in metabolomics research, including sample preparation. Experience with any metabolomics data processing tools and software platforms, such as Compound Discoverer, XCMS, MetaboAnalyst. Experience in data analysis software, such as R, open to learning statistical analyses, multivariate data analysis, and pathway analysis. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration within a multidisciplinary team and the ability to convey complex technical information to non-experts. Experience of contributing to research projects, evidenced by presentations, project outcomes, or publications. The Support and Preparation for an Alzheimer's Research Career (SPARC) Program is a 1-year training opportunity for recent graduates that focuses specifically on Alzheimer's and related dementias. Using an interdisciplinary approach, SPARC participants will study the processes governing aging that contribute to Alzheimer's pathology, aiming to develop novel treatment approaches. Participation is limited to US citizens and permanent residents. The Buck Postbaccalaureate Research Program offers recent graduates a 1- to 2-year opportunity to investigate insights into critical molecular and biological drivers of aging as well as translation of that research into new therapies to improve healthspan and combat diseases such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, cancer, and diabetes.
