MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
School Bus Driver:
1. Report to work in accordance with assigned work schedule
2. Maintain cooperative relationship with staff members, administrators, school, and community
3. Adhere Bob Hope School personnel policies and procedures and fleet policy
4. Perform and document a pre-trip and post-trip inspection on every vehicle driven according to approved Bob
Hope School Fleet Policy and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration guidelines and report all defects in writing to the School Office immediately
5. Check bus for mechanical defects before and after each operation and notify supervisor of needed repairs
6. Exercise caution and safety while driving; obey all traffic laws and safety guidelines for school buses.
7. Follow assigned route and adhere to established schedules as written and communicate changes to appropriate office staff

8. Ensure student safety while loading and unloading students
9. Maintain student discipline to ensure the safety of students being transported, address student discipline issues using approved techniques, and communicate with school personnel regarding student behavior on the bus

11. Keep assigned bus cleaned and fueled
12. Drive bus to pick up and/or drop off students on scheduled routes as needed

Compensation:
$19 - $24 hourly
Responsibilities:
Operate heavy-duty trucks within Silsbee, TX, US to collect household waste in residential areas.
Work side by side with another driver.
Ensure the safe transport of waste to disposal sites within legal limits when trucks reach full capacity.
Navigate through various locations like busy streets, driveways, alleys, and parking lots while driving the vehicles.
Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections on assigned trucks and document checks using the standard DVIR.
Immediately communicate any unsafe situations or service-related issues to the Route Manager or Dispatch.
Participate in scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings as required.
Collaborate with the Route Manager to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices.
Report incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage to the Route Manager promptly.
Inform the Route Manager or Dispatch about service interruptions like closed streets, heavy receptacles, or safety hazards.
Relay customer requests to Dispatch or Route Manager, ensuring all receptacles are emptied completely, leaving locations clean.
Follow assigned routes and complete end-of-day documentation and the check-out process.
Assist other drivers as needed to meet customer needs based on the schedule provided by the Route Manager or Dispatch.
All other duties assigned.
Qualifications:
Education is not a mandatory requirement for this role.
Candidates should possess recent experience of at least one year in driving a vehicle with a CDL or equivalent military driving experience.
Legal eligibility to work in the United States is a must for applicants.
Holding a current Class A or B Commercial Driver's License with an air brake endorsement is essential.
The minimum age for applicants is 18 years old.
Physical abilities required include motor coordination, handling objects weighing over 50 pounds, and performing tasks such as pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
The job involves outdoor work and operating a video/GPS-monitored vehicle.
Candidates should be comfortable working in a physical environment that may include dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes, or similar elements throughout the workday.

POSITION SUMMARY
Driver operates a truck that transports all types of waste including construction, demolition, in large 10, 20, 30, and 40 Yard Roll Off containers from customer sites to disposal and/or processing sites.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Operates a Roll Off large container truck to service Industrial, Commercial & Construction customers needing large containers on assigned routes that typically change daily in different service areas
Secures and covers all loads to ensure safe transport to disposal or processing locations
Prepares, receives, and provides appropriate documentation for the delivery and pickup of containers to ensure timely service
Covers and secures loads following all safety and DOT regulations
Complies with all safety procedures at disposal and processing sites
Maintains radio or telephone communications with dispatch and supervisor to receive instructions or notice of changes concerning deliveries or pickups
Maintains route sheets, vehicle inspection records, and follows all federal and state DOT regulations
Responsible for completing daily pre & post trip inspections, attends all mandatory safety meetings & briefings
Follows operational standards and policies, maintains a valid Texas CDL and DOT medical card
Operates the equipment in a safe and efficient manner while following all laws and regulations paying attention to speed limits, warning signs, extra care in construction zones and does not haul overloaded or overweight containers
Follows all of the FMSCA/DOT guidelines
Identify, tag, or communicate any scheduled services not provided for any reason and never collect any prohibited or hazardous waste
Maintain a clean vehicle and presentable appearance when communicating with Roll Off customers
Responsible for completing daily pre & post trip inspections
Complies with all mandatory safety meetings & briefings, operational standards & policies, and maintains a valid Texas CDL and DOT medical card
Reports all safety and service incidents to the Supervisor immediately
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
At least 3 years of satisfactory driving experience of Class A or B vehicles preferred
Excellent communication skills and ability to deal professionally with customers, dispatchers, mechanics and other drivers
Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations
Excellent driving skills
Computer Skills: Basic use of Tablets and Applications
Pass drug screen and criminal background check
Successfully complete and pass a written and road test
Meet all Federal & State DOT requirements
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to pass a DOT physical
Must be able to climb into and out of truck several times per day using 3 points of contact
Must be able to sit for long periods as well as walk for short periods
Must be able to bend, stoop, crawl and squat in order to perform a full inspection of the underside of the truck and inspect tires for adequate inflation and potential damage
Must be able to work outside for short periods of time in all types of weather
Must be able to see and hear proficiently to operate a commercial motor vehicle in a safe manner
Must be able to work in a moderately noisy environment
