Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Receiving Stall Supervisor is responsible for coordinating the cleaning and organization of the Receiving Barn along with light maintenance [making minor repairs]; keeping the Receiving Barn Laborers aware of any changes in scheduling or procedures.
Being aware of which Receiving Barn stalls need to be cleaned and/or stripped as many times as needed daily.
Keep Receiving Barn Laborers updated on the necessary stalls for morning training, hair testing, and/or racing to be cleaned, stripped and/or repaired.
Organize the schedules of the Receiving Barn Laborers to ensure all work is completed for the next day of racing and/or morning training.
Keeping the aisles and flooring in the Receiving Barn clean and clear of any debris and/or equipment on a constant basis.
Keeping the Stall Supervisor informed regarding the amount of shavings on-site for the Receiving Barn.
Cleaning and sweeping areas of the parking lots in and around the Receiving Barn.
Cleaning and flush washing the stall drains on a weekly schedule.
Keeping the large doors [north and south ends of the Barn] operational by cleaning the tracks as needed.
On live racing, ensure the safety of the horsemen by keeping the floors clean, and clear of waste and/or debris.
Maintain and manage the proper care of work equipment; report lost, stolen and/or damaged equipment to the Stall Superintendent. Instructs Receiving Barn Laborers to lock up tools and equipment when finished with their shift.
Assist the Stall Superintendent by placing ship-in horses [for training, hair testing, and/or racing] in the assigned stall as per approved paperwork from the Stall Superintendent and Director of Racing.
Record keeping of the daily stall details, no-shows, etc.. In compliance with all rules and regulations.
Report issues to the Stall Superintendent or if needed, to Security.
