CDL training sessions will run multiple times throughout the year, with class cohorts projected to start in February, March, July, September, and November. Each training block runs up to six weeks at 28 hours per week, and trainers are paid for the full six weeks even if a cohort finishes ahead of schedule.
The Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Trainer delivers high-quality Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) for Class A and Class B CDL students in accordance with Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicle standards and WNCC curriculum requirements.
This position provides classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction while maintaining student and public safety at all times. The Trainer develops course content within college guidelines, monitors student progress, and ensures compliance with all federal, state, and institutional regulations. The role also supports the management, care, and compliance readiness of college commercial motor vehicles and training equipment.

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Education:
* High school diploma or equivalent required.
* Additional postsecondary coursework in transportation, safety, logistics, or related fields preferred.
Experience:
* Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Class A licensed commercial motor vehicle driver required.
* Experience safely operating and maneuvering CMVs in diverse conditions required.
* Experience positively interacting with individuals from varied backgrounds preferred.
* Experience providing instruction, coaching, or on-the-job training preferred.
* Experience applying state and federal CMV regulations, safety standards, and inspection procedures preferred.
* Experience working independently while coordinating with a multifunctional team preferred.
License or Certificate:
* Valid Nebraska State Class A CDL license held for a minimum of two consecutive years required.
* Must meet State of Nebraska and WNCC driving record standards; DMV record check required.
* Must be at least 21 years old.
* Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, crouching, and stooping required.
* Must be able to lift, move, and handle equipment or instructional materials up to 50 pounds.
