What You'll do

Works closely with the Center Director's designee for disability issues to ensure that students with disabilities who are interested assigned trade is provided reasonable accommodations/modifications, if needed, to perform the trade-related skills required by the Training Achievement Records (TARs).
Provides input on the maintenance of the Career Development Services System Plan.
Ensures students are taught the importance of attaining and applying the career success and applied academic standards
Tailors instructional methods and expected rates of progress to the learning styles, abilities and career goals of individual students.
Work closely with center staff to develop student schedules. Every effort shall be made to schedule students to attend career technical classes for the maximum period per day, including an appropriate amount of time for lunch.
Deliver training in the context of projects or workplace situations, using workplace materials and employer and Industry Council input whenever possible.
Incorporate work-based learning (WBL) as a primary instructional approach to the delivery of applied and contextual training.

Perform direct resident care duties under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel. Assist with promoting a compassionate physical and psychosocial environment for the residents.
Environment:
Work will be performed primarily indoors at one of our long-term healthcare facilities, throughout all areas, including in resident rooms, and on carpeted and/or tiled floors. Work will be performed there routinely around other co-workers, healthcare staff, residents, and guests. Due to the nature of facility's business, worker may be exposed to occasional slippery floors, object on floors, chemicals, sharp objects, hazardous materials and waste (including human), blood borne pathogens, and communicable diseases, as well as high-stress medical and/or life threatening situations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Meet physical and sensory requirements stated below, and be able to work in the described environment.
Identify and participate in process improvement initiatives that improve the customer experience, enhance work flow, and/or improve the work environment.
Provide personal care (i.e., grooming, bathing, dressing, oral care, etc.) of residents daily and as needed.
Change bed linen and maintain appropriate grooming supplies in resident room on a regular basis.

Provide adequate hydration to residents at regular intervals each day according to specific resident needs.
Prepare residents for each meal and transport to dining room (unless a bed patient) making sure that food tray is accessible, self-help devices are available (if needed), and assistance is provided to those residents who cannot feed themselves.
Keep an accurate record of food intake and output, as directed.
Maintain established housekeeping standards within assigned duty areas.
Assist nursing staff with the basics of aseptic and sterile techniques to avoid infection of residents and self-contamination of equipment and supplies.
Be alert for proper ventilation, temperature, light and noise control.
Take TPR (temperature, pulse, & rate), blood pressure, weighing of residents, etc., as directed.
Promptly answer call lights and assist with other resident needs.
Utilize proper body mechanics when lifting or transporting residents.
Assist in the orientation and training of other staff, as requested.
Other special projects and duties, as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Current Nursing Assistant certification from state
Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
