Shift: The work hours are from 1:00pm-1:30am (with a 30-minute lunch) Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday Week 2: Wednesday and Thursday Responsibilities: • Under minimal supervision performs / reviews analytical testing of Raw Materials, Work-In-Process, Finished Products for product approval and releases. • Performs physical and chemical testing in accordance with standard procedures, utilizing wet-chemistry and basic instrumental techniques. • Maintains accurate, up-to-date and concise laboratory notebooks and records. • Works as a member of the Laboratory Team to complete all required tasks in a timely manner. • Understand and precisely follows Standard Operating Procedures, global methods, local methods and published standard or compendia methods i.e. USP, AOCS, ASTM. • Provides training to employees on new and existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). • Provides support to the Operations personnel with analytical equipment and testing procedures. • Capable of operating and performing basic troubleshooting on analytical instruments (HPLC, Autotitrator, Karl Fischer, NIR, UV-Vis and FTIR). • Responsible for daily/monthly instrument calibrations to ensure all instruments are working properly. • Support laboratory equipment validations by executing or assisting vendors with Installation. • Assist the manufacturing site with product, equipment, and Cleaning & Sanitizing (C&S) validations by performing all required tests in a timely manner. • Participates on Out of Specification (OOS) investigations to collect the necessary samples and information to complete Laboratory Investigation Reports (LIR). • Supports, maintains and reviews data to identify trends and draw conclusions. • Understands and applies basic laboratory safety instructions, reagent handling precautions, and disposal of chemical waste according to local environmental regulations. SUMMARY: Looking for an experienced ICP/MS or OES metals specialist to join our Environmental lab. This role is vital to ensure that the lab is able to analyze water and soil samples for metal concentrations. The person chosen for this role will provide guidance in method development, instrument trouble shooting and maintenance. This facility houses a significant number of instruments allowing for high volume analysis. Responsible for being a technical specialist to serve the needs of the metals department to help achieve department goals. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Serves as a technical lead to staff to include providing analytical training and maintenance training. Troubleshoots instrument problems and works with instrument manufacturers to revolve problems. Develops methods as needed to achieve evolving regulatory limits or to meet needs of new methods. Sets up equipment and methods for use by analytical staff Overseeing or reviewing, completing and processing comprehensive types of SOPs and related materials. Provides analysis, interpretation and counsel to staff and management Performs data review or analysis as needed to meet customer needs Interprets and applies department policies and procedures and assists with applicable laws, rules, and regulations; receives guidance within these areas as needed. Promotes and supports the overall mission of Pace Analytical by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with customers and staff; acts in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment. Troubleshoot equipment alarms. Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
