This is a project development unit supervisor position in the Southwest Region working under the general supervision of the DOT Engineering Chief with the primary focus of the Interstate and 51 North Project. This position performs administrative and supervisory functions in the field of engineering and is responsible for the supervision of professional and technical staff that provide support for engineering related functions. This position's primary role is to achieve program objectives by interpreting and applying policy within its programmatic area and directly supervising a staff of professional engineering and technical positions. This position is responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of policies, procedures, and standards for the highway improvement program. A major goal is to support the various engineering and administrative activities involved in the many phases of project development to enable timely progress toward completed plans, specifications and estimates. The responsibilities of this position involve highly professional and technical judgments that carry significant consequence of error. the extremely complex nature of these duties require a thorough knowledge of the engineering aspects, policies, procedures, and processes required for project development. This position operates independently and reports to the Design Standards and Oversight Section Chief. Salary Information This position is in schedule-range 14-13 with an annual salary of $92,768 - $112,237, plus excellent benefits. A twelve-month probationary period is required.
