Lab Technicians are responsible for various tasks throughout the day, simultaneously and in series. It is important that lab technicians have a good multi-tasking ability. What you will be doing * Supports the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the lab * Assists with the development of curriculum that accurately reflects content, goals and objectives of program * Ensures that students receive personalized support by directly engaging with them during workshops, information sessions, and on-on-one meetings * Ensures a proper schedule of lab sessions and provides notification of changes of schedules or class cancelation to staff, faculty and students * Coordinates initiatives designed to promote programs * Assists with reporting any accidents or incidents at the Lab using the College's established guidelines and reporting procedures * Monitors student attendance and performance evaluations and reports any problems to program administration * Coordinates the acquisition of necessary lab materials and supplies while scheduling and performing routine maintenance on all laboratory machinery and equipment * Maintains an organized and detailed inventory of lab tools, materials, and resources * Collaborates with sales representatives, vendors, and industry professionals * Maintains budget reports and assures receipt of ordered supplies and equipment * Conducts research and provides guidance on lab equipment selection * Ensures compliance with safety protocols in the use of machinery and equipment * Establishes and ensures adherence to the lab guidelines * Maintains detailed logs of lab access and utilization by faculty and student members * Keeps abreast of new technological developments to help improve productivity and support faculty with the integration of technology into classroom instruction * Performs other duties as assigned What you need to succeed * Master's degree in a related field from a regionally accredited institution; or Bachelor's degree in a related field from a regionally accredited institution and four (4) years of related work experience. * All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution * Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures * Strong organizational and time management skills * Ability to troubleshoot equipment and materials issues * Problem-solving skills for managing safety or operational challenges * Knowledge of Microsoft office software and specific computer programs related to area of responsibility * Attention to detail for inventory, equipment maintenance, and safety protocols * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals * Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments * Ability to work well with students, faculty and staff Additional Requirements The final candidate is to successfully complete a background screening and reference check process.
