Primary Responsibilities: Perform routine microbiology and some molecular testing Responsible for conducting examinations on specimens collected from patients for bacterial, viral, protozoan and fungal infections Isolate and make cultures of bacteria or other microorganisms in prescribed media, controlling moisture, aeration, temperature, and nutrition Examine physiological, morphological, and cultural characteristics, using a microscope, to identify and classify microorganisms in human specimens Identify and isolate infectious disease-causing organisms Perform a full range of laboratory tests from simple blood tests to more complex tests Recognize unusual antimicrobial susceptibility results and troubleshoot the issue What's Available: Fulltime - 72 hours biweekly (0.9 FTE) Day shifts (start between 4a-7:30a) with occasional evening shift (2p-10:30p) and every third weekend rotation. Weekend rotation will be evening shifts Starting pay of $29.05 per hour and up, based on your years of experience, along with generous evening and weekend shift differentials 8 & 80: paid time and one-half the regular rate for all hours worked over eight in any workday and eighty hours in the fourteen-day period. Labcorp is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join their Specimen Processing and Accessioning team in Houston, TX. The Specimen Accessioner will be responsible for performing clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment according to established standard operating procedures. Work Schedule: Tuesday- Saturday 5:00am- 1:30pm, Monday Rotation as needed.
