JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
The Clinical Laboratory Scientist performs pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical procedures and analysis in Hematology, Chemistry and Clinical immunoassays, to provide accurate data for diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of medical conditions. The clinical laboratory scientist will work closely with the Clinical Manager, Technical Consultant and Laboratory Director to perform waived and moderate complexity testing.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Current Licensure as CLS in California
1-5 years of experience working in laboratory
Experience with maintenance, operation and troubleshooting of laboratory analyzers/equipment; including the Horiba ABX Pentra XL 80, Roche Cobas c311, and Roche Cobas e411 preferred.
Experience with laboratory QC and QA preferred.
Ability to recognize/report abnormal laboratory results.
Leadership experience preferred.
Computer skills and typing required.
Demonstrated excellent people skills, verbal skills and multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to communicate in English verbally and in writing.
Ability to provide supervision of phlebotomy and laboratory assistant staff

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist performs pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical procedures and analyses in all laboratory disciplines (Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Transfusion) to provide accurate data for health maintenance, diagnoses, treatment and monitoring of medical conditions. Brief Description of Duties
* Teach CLS Students Advanced Medical Microbiology, Transfusion, Blood Banking, Hematology, Molecular Biology, Laboratory Management, or Clinical Chemistry and includes 12 separate lectures with associated assignments and exams.

* Faculty shall organize all their classes within the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS).

About You
We are seeking someone who is service-driven to work full or part-time as part of an amazing team of Mental Health Service Providers, Nurses, Rehab staff, Therapists, and Psychiatrists. You will be working with adults (18-59) who are diagnosed with a chronic mental illness (ex: schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, depression, PTSD) and live in an adult, non-medical residential care facility.
You will need:
Full Vaccination against COVID-19 - CA required.
High school diploma or GED- required.

Experience passing medications in a residential care facility - required.
Experience as a caregiver - preferred

Your Responsibilities
Your role as a Med Tech is to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to assist clients who are stepping down from higher levels of care into residential settings. The goal is to see clients through their recovery process and to celebrate graduations from treatment back to home counties, families, and friends. As a Med Tech, you will help ensure that clients receive their daily doses of medications as scheduled to ensure the success of treatment and to help prevent unnecessary psychiatric hospitalizations and stabilize housing. As a Med Tech, you will be:
Working in a medium-sized (50-80 Residents) licensed residential care facility for adults.
Passing out regularly scheduled meds during the AM, NN, PM, and HS hours using easy-to-dispense individualized baggies containing clients' scheduled meds - No bubble packs to pop out so your thumbs can rest!
Passing out PRN medications as ordered
Documenting the self-administration of meds using user-friendly electronic MARS
Communicating with the pharmacy daily to ensure the follow-up on new med orders including deliveries.
Tracking individual and OTC meds to ensure the ongoing availability of ordered meds.
Communicating with multi-disciplinary team
Assisting with floor duties as needed
Learning therapeutic support and redirection through verbal and non-verbal de-escalation techniques-we are not a “hands-on” facility.
Providing behavioral Interventions like properly setting boundaries and providing redirection and support
Helping clients safely access the community.

How You'll Contribute:
