The technologist operates specialized imaging and monitoring equipment, ensures patient safety and comfort, and maintains a sterile environment during procedures. Key Responsibilities: Prepare the catheterization laboratory and patient for procedures by ensuring all necessary equipment, supplies, and instruments are available and functioning properly. Assist the cardiologist during diagnostic and interventional procedures such as angioplasty, stent placement, pacemaker implantation, and electrophysiology studies. Operate fluoroscopy, hemodynamic monitoring, and recording equipment to capture and analyze images and data during procedures. Maintain strict sterile technique and assist in the setup and breakdown of sterile fields. Monitor patient vital signs and electrocardiograms (ECG) throughout the procedure, reporting changes to the physician promptly. Administer contrast media and medications under physician supervision, following hospital protocols. Document procedure details, patient data, and equipment usage accurately in the electronic medical record. Ensure radiation safety practices for patients, staff, and self. Maintain equipment through regular cleaning, calibration, and preventive maintenance checks. Participate in emergency call rotation as required. Support quality assurance, inventory control, and continuous improvement initiatives within the Cath Lab. Qualifications: Education: Associates or Bachelors degree in Radiologic Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, or a related field. Licensure/Certification: Certs REQ: BCLS, ARRT, Flouro Permit, CA license Current ARRT (R) or RCIS certification required. State radiologic technologist license BLS and ACLS certification required.
