What You Will Do * Serve patients by reviewing, adjusting, verifying, and dispensing physician medication orders and related services (such as pharmacokinetic dosing and levels). * Review and recommend dose changes of patient medications to achieve best practice. * Assure the appropriateness of a medication order, including age-related factors, before preparing or permitting the distribution of the first dose. * Maintain the accuracy of patient profiles. * Exercise skills as a team member in the management of medical emergencies. * Oversee pharmacy technicians to assist with all medication distribution functions. * Fosters a team environment by providing orientation and training to new team members. * Coordinates and completes all assigned medication storage area inspections in a timely manner. * Adheres to infection control protocols. * Build and nurture relationships with physicians and nurses.
