SocialWorker MSW Valley:
Provided by staff licensed by the Texas State Board of SocialWorker Examiners, SocialWorkers provide a wide range of services to include: emotional support, supportive and goal directed counseling, assessment of patient and family needs, treatment planning, and referral to community resources as they address the impact of illness and/or trauma, and treatment planning. SocialWorkers provide education to patients, families and hospital staff regarding health, safety and psychosocial issues. They work in collaboration with physicians and other patient care staff and sensitize the team on the social, cultural, and emotional aspects of a patient's illness and the impact of the illness on the family. SocialWorkers participate in the care and treatment planning for children of all ages. They assist in discharge planning and work with outside agencies to ensure appropriate continuity of care.

Attends and participates in staff meetings.
Participates in the training (precepting) of new employees, supervision of social work students, and cross training of co-workers.
Provides peer support.
Participates in the monthly and holiday call schedule and reports to work as necessary when on call.
Travels to ambulatory clinics for education, patient assessment, and meetings as requested.
Participates in the review and revision of community resource lists.
Participates in annual performance improvement activities of the department and assigned units.
Participates in periodic review and revision of policy and procedures.
Participates in budget planning.
Assists with staffing schedule voluntarily or as assigned by supervisor.
Conducts process and debriefing support opportunities for staff concerning such issues as grief, conflict, and interaction with families.
Collects data for research relating to social work issues.
Patient Care
Responds to Physician orders and Nursing functional screening requests timely.
Makes daily rounds in assigned units.
Proactively screen for high risk; determine need for/eligibility for services; identify strengths/coping capabilities; and assess informal and formal network of support through psychosocial assessment.
Provides comprehensive psychosocial assessment, evaluation, treatment planning, education, and discharge planning to support identified or potential barriers to care related to social support limitations, lack of understanding, complex medical concerns, mental health and substance abuse issues, family violence, emotional stability, and behavioral risks.
Assists family in understanding medical and treatment information.
Provides mediation and crisis intervention for families in a supportive environment for discussing problematic behavior or familial discord to ensure safety and following of medical directives.
Provides supportive end of life care that may include assessment, advocacy, grief and crisis counseling, resource counseling (alternate level of care to include home care and hospice, financial and legal needs, advance directive planning, and information and referral for funeral assistance), memory packets, and team care planning.
Assists in linking families to services provided by Medicaid Transportation Program's for transportation, lodging, and meals.
Coordinates and participates in discharge planning activities to include (but not limited to)…
care conferences
information and referral to community resources
follow-up care needs
secure needed equipment, supplies, and services
planning for and arrangement of appropriate school services for patients (homebound and/or information on accommodations for students with disabilities for 504 plan).
Upon suspicion/confirmation of abuse, neglect, or exploitation of a child, elderly, or disabled person…
notifies appropriate agency (Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services and/or Law Enforcement agency)
serves as the liaison between the hospital and agency for appropriate discharge planning
Completes timely documentation in the medical record of contact with patients and families in note and/or doc-flow form as appropriate.
Plans, coordinates, and attends team and family conferences and actively participates as an advocate in the review and planning of patient care.
Provides supportive counseling and ongoing emotional support for long-term patients and their families.
Provides professional consultation to physicians and hospital staff in regards to psychosocial issues, bioethical issues, and discharge planning.
Ensures clinics are meeting required standards of care form SocialWorkers
If familiar with mandated and best practice standards for Social Work Services in assigned clinics.
Community
Plans and conducts support groups for patients, parents, and families.
Serves as a liaison and advocate with community programs and agencies related to health, social welfare, and community supports.
Provides education to school personnel, students, and the community as requested.
Works with staff from outside agencies to ensure quality care along the continuum.
Testifies in court regarding child abuse and/or neglect.
LMSW under Clinical Supervision
In addition to the above duties, will have the opportunity to

Expand counseling services provided to patients and their families to include utilization of brief, crisis, therapeutic, and supportive interventions.
Enhance mental health screening, assessment, and support
Administration of mental health screening tools; i.e.; Edinburgh, PHQ-9, GAD, Columbia- Suicide Severity Scale (C- SSRS), CRAFFT, etc.
Inclusion of preliminary diagnosis and safety planning to mental health assessments
Provision of therapeutic interventions and treatment strategies to include, but not limited to; motivational interviewing, treatment engagement, crisis intervention and intensive crisis stabilization, brief and solution focused therapy, and safety planning.
Education / Experience:
Bachelors or Master's degree in Social Work or related field
AND
One-year experience working in pediatric health care- preferred.
Experience in the health care field- a plus.
Familiarity with resources for children of all ages especially as related to medical services- preferred.
Bilingual skills in Spanish- preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Licensure by the Texas State Board of SocialWorker Examiners LBSW, LMSW, LCSW
May consider applicants who can provide proof of passing licensure test 1 month prior to graduation. Licensure must be secured prior to completion of orientation (90 days). Employee will be administratively termed if not licensed within timeframe.

**Job Summary and Qualifications**
The SocialWorker (BSW) is responsible for promoting patient-centered care by evaluating psychosocial needs and providing community service coordination for identified patient populations. As a member of a multidisciplinary health team, the BSW acts as a liaison between the patient and community resources/post-acute care providers. The BSW creates and facilitates the timely implementation of discharge plans and arranges post-acute interventions identified in the plan of care. The BSW facilitates patient movement across the continuum of care. The scope of this role includes primarily Med/Surg units.
What you will do in this role:
+ You will work collaboratively with RN case managers, acute care nurses, physicians, insurance companies, and other staff members to proactively identify and address patient needs.
+ You will identify and address barriers to discharge and recovery. These barriers include financial, emotional, psychosocial, medical, and spiritual.
+ You will perform thorough assessments and develop appropriate discharge plans for high-risk patients with discharge planning or psychosocial needs.
+ You will obtain input from the RN case manager to ensure the discharge plan is appropriate and aligns with the patient care plan. You will reassess and modify the patient discharge plan as needed, in conjunction with the clinical team.
+ You will participate in the interdisciplinary care planning process and perform proactive discharge planning.
+ You will provide education to patients and caregivers regarding community resources and post-acute level of care criteria, benefits, and coverage.
+ You will coordinate and facilitate meetings between the care team and patients/families/caregivers. You will assist patients and families in making difficult decisions while honoring their preferences and values.
**What qualifications you will need:**
+ Bachelor's Degree or higher in Social Work with current Texas license (LBSW or LMSW)
+ BCLS required

The SNC socialworker oversees and manages the installation Exceptional Family Member Program - Medical (EFMP-M) IAW DoD and AF policy and any subsequent implementing guidance.
Uses clinical assessment skills and maintains procedures to identify sponsors whose family members have special medical and educational needs in a timely manner. The SNC uses a multi-disciplinary and collaborative approach with other key service providers, such as installation youth and childcare facilities, and officer and enlisted spouses groups, to ensure effective outreach and identification of special needs. Ensures family members of the AF personnel or family of the AF member are appropriately "Q coded" (EFMP- enrolled).
Ensures all active duty sponsors known to the Air Force Personnel Center, and local Military Personnel Section (MPS) and/or Commander Support Staff (CSS) where applicable, having family members with special needs are identified in AF medical special needs data management systems. Provides oversight for base-level data entry in AF-provided data management systems used in the management of EFMP-M.
Provides training to installation personnel and medical staff; and consultation as needed to support the implementation of EFMP-M base-wide.
Integrally involved in the Family Member Relocation Clearance (FMRC) process. Ensures all FMRC requirements are implemented by all EFMP-M staff. Coordinates the enrollment process and travel screening for all active duty family members' and travel screening upon request to the families of DoD civilian sponsored assignments going to an overseas base.
Provides oversight to ensure every AF sponsor with one or more family members with special needs assigned to the installation has a SN file maintained at the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF). Ensures Q-coded sponsors assigned to the installation are contacted annually to determine if there are unmet needs and to request updates of information as needed.
Collaborates with the Integrated Delivery System (IDS) and other interagency forums that provide family medical information and referrals to base and civilian agencies. Ensures EFMP families are referred to the Airman and Family Readiness Center for additional community assistance as needed. Maintains a cooperative working relationship with the base MPS, CSS, and with Air Force Personnel Center (AFPC). Actively supports the integration of EFMP-M, Exceptional Family Member Program - Family Support (EFMP-FS) and Exceptional Family Member Program - Assignments (EFMP-A) services at the installation. Provides information, appropriate contact information, and coordinates referrals as appropriate.
Participates in EFMP quarterly case reviews to discuss/assess newly identified families', complex, or unmet medical needs. Determine the appropriate resources necessary for the families.
Patient specific assessments and clinical plans of action will be located in AHLTA and the Special Needs record. Meeting minutes will not contain patient identifying information.
Coordinates and participates in designated facility meetings.
Participates in the clinic orientation and training of other staff of the Special Needs Program. May serve on committees, work groups, and task forces at the facility.
Must maintain a level of productivity and quality consistent with: complexity of the assignment; facility policies and guidelines; established principles, ethics and standards of practice of professional social work, Health Services Inspection (HSI); and other applicable DoD and service specific guidance's and policies. Must also comply with the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Program, infection control and safety policies and procedures.
Completes medical record documentation and coding and designated tracking logs and data reporting as required.
Completes all required electronic medical record training, MTF-specific orientation and SNC training programs.
Consults with medical personnel, legal authorities, military commanders and school districts, as required.

Department/College Background:
The Clinical Psychology PhD program is housed under the Department of Psychological Science in the College of Liberal Arts. At the undergraduate level, the UTRGV Department of Psychological Science offers a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Psychology. At the graduate level, we offer a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Clinical Psychology, a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Experimental Psychology, and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Clinical Psychology.

* Assistant Professor: Applicants must have an earned doctorate in psychology from an APA-accredited doctoral program. Applicants must present evidence of active research that includes publications in peer-reviewed journals; potential to effectively teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels; potential to supervise and mentor clinical and research activities of students; potential to maintain active programmatic research, and potential to obtain external grant funding.
Candidates for a tenured appointment must be currently tenured at their current institution.
To be eligible for the rank of Associate : Beyond the above requirements, requirements include a demonstrated ability to independently conduct programmatic research activities that meet the departmental and institutional requirements for the rank of associate professor; and a high degree of teaching proficiency and commitment to professional service.

Discipline Specific Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited doctoral program (or be ABD with the expectation of holding a doctorate before the position start date) and APA-accredited predoctoral internship.

This opportunity is a great fit if you're an independently licensed clinical therapist interested in providing culturally responsive, evidence-based therapy for children, adults, couples, and/or families. We encourage clinicians to apply who have experience with caseloads that include a comprehensive spectrum of mental health needs, from milder presentations to more complex and severe support. This opportunity is a great fit for providers seeking well-matched and motivated clients, administrative and marketing support, and easy invoicing with quick payments. The ability to work with clients in person through your private or group practice is strongly preferred. We are looking for clinicians who are able to work with clients in these locations: Lubbock, Mckinney, Corpus Christi, Brownsville, College Station, Edinburg, McAllen, Victoria, Weslaco, Brownwood, & Killeen.Requirements:
Master's or doctoral degree from a clinical track (e.g., MSW, MFT, MC, MMHC, PhD, PsyD)
Unrestricted LCSW, LMFT, LPC, PsyD, PhD, or equivalent license (i.e., able to work independently, without supervision from a licensed supervisor) without current, past, or pending disciplinary action
Experience and commitment to providing evidence-based treatments (e.g., ACT, CBT, CPT, DBT) and clinical best practices (e.g., measurement based care, promoting skills practice)
Ability to provide care to children, adults, couples, and/or families with a strong preference for in-person care delivery
Must have office space with ability to see clients in the Texas area
Experience managing risk and responding to clinical crises, as needed
Full-time resident of the United States
