MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in social work and be currently licensed as an LCSW, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, by the State of Utah. Due to the nature of this position, the successful applicant must successfully pass an initial criminal background check as well as every two years thereafter and continuously meet the requirements of the Bureau of Criminal Information (BCI). Must possess a valid Utah Driver's License to operate either a personal or Salt Lake County vehicle. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Meets with victims of violent crimes, their families, and significant others for initial intake and assessment. Educates victims of violent crimes, their families and significant others by providing information about the purpose and process of court proceedings and their participation in such hearings. Participate in Preliminary Hearings and Trial Preparation meetings with victims, witnesses, their family members and the assigned prosecuting attorney. Attends court hearings with victims of violent crimes, their families and significant others. Explains the court process as it unfolds and responds to questions, concerns and crises as they occur. Maintains contact with victims of violent crimes, their families and significant others throughout the court process Identifies those victims of violent crimes, their families and significant others in a heightened state of crisis. Utilizes therapeutic intervention techniques to reduce the effects of trauma, and makes referrals to other support services as clinically appropriate. Acts as a liaison between the victims of violent crimes, their families and significant others and the assigned prosecuting attorney, advising the attorney of their specific abilities, needs, and desired outcomes. Refers victims of violent crimes, their families and significant others to local resources as needed. Participates in and contributes clinical insight and accurate information regarding the effects of trauma to multi-disciplinary case staffings. Makes appropriate collateral contacts with other agencies serving the same client, coordinating information and services to meet the physical and emotional needs of victims, their families and significant others. Provides community services under the direction of the Program Manager to promote increased community awareness and response to victims of crimes and to provide education and information to community agencies and programs. Provides administrative services and support functions with regard to accurate documentation and record-keeping, participation in unit meetings for the purpose of information sharing, problem solving and receiving direction from the Program Director or designee.

Position Summary This position is based out of the Geraldine E King Women's Resource Center (GEK) which is a 200 bed women's emergency shelter. Under the direct supervision of the GEK Program Director, provide therapeutic services to women out of the GEK via crisis intervention, Brief therapy, and on-floor support. This position assists with providing daily program oversight including management of clinical and/or non-clinical staff; clinical oversight for case management, peer support specialists, and program services, as needed; and provide a safe and nurturing environment for clients in accordance with licensing, agency and contract standards. Essential Duties Provide clinical services to clients experiencing homelessness and mental illness in a women's shelter, including making referrals to higher level of care, creating safety plans, referrals to ongoing mental health services, facilitating group therapy, overseeing the facility's group therapy schedule, providing brief individual counseling, and crisis intervention. Holds weekly Clinical Supervision meeting with housing case managers and peer support specialists to go over client cases and provide appropriate clinical direction and guidance. Oversee the training and implementation of evidenced based best practices such as motivational interviewing, stages of change, trauma informed practices and procedures, etc. Consistently monitor client flow between case managers and peer support specialists to assure client connection to ongoing supportive services, community connection, and housing focus. Collaborate with Management team to identify high shelter utilizers and clients with high/acute behavioral health needs to create strategies to assist clients through service engagement. Provide regularly scheduled supervision, performance evaluations, and disciplinary processes with direct reports. Oversee high acuity cases, assisting with referrals, clinical support, and interventions in collaboration with case management and management team. Review, on an ongoing basis, the clinical services offered at the Women's Resource Center and develop new programs and/or services as need emerges and assist in the integration of behavioral health. Participate in audits, site visits, and provide oversight that all client files and related paperwork is maintained in accordance with licensing and contract requirements and submitted in a timely manner. Maintain clinical records, record daily service, client case files Develop and maintain effective therapeutic alliance with clients, including conceptualizing and fostering effective therapeutic process Participate in interagency case consultation as necessary while adhering to agency's confidentiality policy. Develop and maintain relationships with community partners. Attend work as scheduled and arrive at the designated time. Work must be performed on-site due to the need to provide direct client care and program support/oversight. Secondary Duties Maintain good professional relationships with appropriate community figures, referral sources, and other professionals. Maintain familiarity with issues and trends in the mental health treatment field including comorbid mental health issues and advances in evidence-based practices. Maintain any and all continuing education requirements in order to maintain the therapist's professional level and status. Complete payroll, receipt coding and pay-related functions in a timely manner. Participate in Management On-Call Schedule. Maintain positive relationships with community entities, client family members, agency donors and emergency response services. Maintain up-to-date professional skills through formal training and licensure requirements. Contribute to Volunteers of America, Utah management activities including management meetings, leadership activities and agency initiatives. Perform other functions as necessary or assigned.
