This position assesses problems and capabilities of assigned persons in our care, formulates case plans, monitors progress, provides counseling, and develops and refers individuals to the appropriate institution and community resources upon transfer or release.
In addition, treatment efforts are coordinated with other institution and unit staff, parole agents, family members and/or community resources.
A SocialWorker Credential from the Wisconsin DSPS is required to be considered for interview.
Salary Information
SocialWorker is in pay schedule and range 12-64 and SocialWorker - Senior is in pay schedule and range 12-63.
Starting pay will be set based on full years of non-training Social Work Credentialing in Wisconsin.

For Candidates hired with a SocialWorker Training Certificate (-127) the progression on years of pay will start when a full SocialWorker credential is issued (of any of the other types allowed below).
Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A probationary period is required.
Candidates with no prior permanent employment with the State of Wisconsin in the past 5 years may be eligible to accept a sign-on bonus of $3,000. The sign-on bonus will be paid in two installments: $1500 on the first paycheck and $1500 with the paycheck for the pay period in which the employee attains permanent status (usually 1 year). (UW System employment isn't disqualifying.)
To receive the bonus, a candidate must sign an agreement indicating they will remain in that occupational area for a year. If the candidate leaves their occupational area prior to completing the one year, they may be required to reimburse the initial payment.

Job Details
These positions will normally be on site, but certain sites may have occasional remote work available. You can ask about a specific location if you are offered an interview.
Anticipated schedule will be day-time hours Monday - Friday and the majority of positions are full-time. Specifics can be discussed at time of interview. This position is FLSA Exempt.
This position is not anticipated to travel on a regular basis, but most DOC positions occasionally travel for training, meetings, conferences, or similar events.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants MUST possess an active SocialWorker credential issued by the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services in the form of a:
* SocialWorker Training certificate (127)
* SocialWorker certificate (120)
* Advanced Practice SocialWorker certificate (121)
* Independent ClinicalSocialWorker certificate (122) or
* Licensed ClinicalSocialWorker license (123)
(Applicants with a temporary credential may be considered, but the regular SocialWorker credential must be obtained during the first 12 months of employment.)
In addition to the credential above, in order to be considered for direct hire at the SocialWorker - Senior level:
Applicants must also have a non-Training Certificate Social Work Credential AND 12 or more months of social work experience with correctional clients or 2 or more years of total social work experience.

Reporting to the Social Services Manager, the SocialWorker provides a variety of services designed to meet the Psychosocial and Social Wellness needs of Villagers at Brewster Village. * Advocates for the well-being of Villagers through explaining to and assisting the Villager, family, and/or representative in the areas of Villager rights, benefits, pertinent regulations, and other needed services.
* Provides leadership and supervision including coaching and instruction of the wellness team regarding Villagers rights, care plan approaches, team to Villager interaction, and active treatment services.
* Maintains required records and files; prepares forms, reports, completing notation, assessments, Level 1 and 2 screenings, and obtains appropriate informed consents.

* Mentoring and serving as a role model to team members in all households, provides knowledge and direction to assure that the households have needed resources (community links, materials, and supplies).
* Maintains a safe, comfortable and functional environment by assessing the household for potential hazards, implements practices utilizing appropriate techniques regarding sanitation, infection control, fire safety, disaster preparedness and emergency care, investigates and reports all incidents and accidents, and observes the team for safe work habits.
Education/Certifications/Experience Requirements
* Must be a Certified SocialWorker by the State of Wisconsin Department of Regulation and Licensing. Preferred one to two years experience in long term care OR experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.

Medical Coverage
Outagamie County currently offers eligible employees a Low-Deductible Health Plan and a High Deductible Health Plan with a Health Savings Account (HSA). Each of these plans are available for single or family coverage at affordable rates.
Dental Coverage
Eligible employees may choose either single, limited family, or family coverage.
Vision Coverage
Outagamie County offers single, employee plus one, employee plus children, and family voluntary vision insurance for those that are benefit eligible. Vision insurance coverage provides an opportunity for employees to save money on routine vision exams, contacts, eyeglass frames, and lenses.
Life Insurance
Outagamie County provides group life insurance for full-time employees. The cost of this coverage is paid for in full by the County.
Voluntary Short-Term Disability Insurance
Short-Term Disability pays the employee a portion of his or her income for a specified period of time, as determined by the plan. The Short-Term Disability plan provides coverage for injuries and illnesses that occur outside of work. The premium for this coverage is paid entirely by the employee and is available to active employees that meet the hours threshold requirements.
Long-Term Disability Insurance
All regular, non-union full-time employees are eligible for long-term disability coverage. Premiums are fully paid by the County.
Wisconsin Retirement System
Wisconsin Retirement Program helps provide for financial security during retirement. Monthly annuity payments at retirement are calculated using years of creditable service, average earnings (based on three highest years of earnings), formula factors, age at retirement and selected annuity option.
The retirement plan consists of two parts: an employee-required portion and an employer-required portion. Outagamie County pays the employer portion, and employees are responsible for paying the employee-required portion, which is determined by the state each year. Enrollment is required for eligible employees. Eligibility is determined based on Wisconsin Retirement System plan rules.
Deferred Compensation
Deferred Compensation allows employees to set aside pre-tax earnings toward retirement. Employees can save up to 100% of their compensation, to a maximum of $23,500 annually, or as little as $10.00 per paycheck. The amount deferred reduces year-end state and federal income tax base. All the earnings will accrue tax-deferred until such time as the assets are withdrawn, generally at retirement, termination, or other special circumstances. There is also an after-tax 457 Roth contribution option.
Flexible Spending Account Plan
The Flexible Spending Account Plan saves money by allowing the employee to pay for certain medical related expenses and dependent care expenses on a pre-tax basis, reducing annual taxable income resulting in Federal, State, Social Security, and Medicare tax savings.
Employee Assistance Program
Outagamie County has an Employee Assistance Program (EAP). The services offered as part of the County's plan are a benefit provided at no cost to its employees and their immediate family members to help deal with life's stresses. EAP consists of caring individuals who are certified counselors. They offer professional support and direction towards resolving problems or concerns. They can also help by referring the employee to another resource if assistance is needed beyond the EAP.
Paid Time Off
Outagamie County offers several paid time off benefits that include: vacation, personal holidays, national holidays, sick leave, bereavement leave and military leave.
Employee and Family Clinic
Primary Health Services, Acute Health Care and Physical Therapy are available to employees and dependents ages 12 months and up (age 13 and up for physical therapy), who are covered on a county health plan. A Health Coach is available to all employees, and to dependents covered under a county health plan age 14 and older. There is an onsite location and a shared clinic site location.
Fitness Center
Located at the downtown campus, a brand new fitness center with treadmills and other gym equipment is available to all employees from 5am to 10pm daily.

Continuing Education
Outagamie County encourages continuing education by offering Education Reimbursement. About the Role
As a part-time Fee-for-Service Therapist, you'll provide individual, group, and family therapy to clients at our outpatient clinic in New London, with the potential opportunity to partner with school staff in local school districts to bring mental health support to students in their educational environments. With a focus on trauma-informed care, you'll help clients achieve lasting change while enjoying the flexibility to shape your schedule.

Deliver therapy sessions at the outpatient clinic.
