What You'll Do * Perform chemical analysis of steel samples and physical testing of various steel mill rolled products * Maintain and operate spectrograph and related equipment to test chemical composition of heats * Maintain and operate tensile test machine and bending test apparatus to check conformity of rolled product to specification physical requirements * Record, verify and submit test results to insure product quality and mill certification integrity into CMC computer systems * Participates in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively upholds the CMC Safety Culture * Support nuclear program compliant quality management system, including 10 CFR Part 21 * Prepare and perform chemistry tests for samples taken from heat samples and when necessary billets and test bars * Verify test results against product specifications and support billet heat traceability activities * Cut, prepare, and inspect samples from all rolled products for dimension, weight and workmanship at the rolling process * Communicate inspection results in real time to the proper supervisor * Perform tension test and enter test data into computer for Mill test reports * Use extensometer and recorder as required to enter results into computer system in a timely matter * Utilize ancillary equipment (eg metallography, potable hardness tester, etc) when necessary * Communicate non-conforming product with emphasis on weight control, strength level and product specifications per assigned standards * Advise appropriate personnel to make Thermex adjustments when results indicate need based on test results * Collect, prepare, test and package samples for use by various State Highway inspectors and others Also support external audits when necessary * Support lab standardization and document control activities * Maintain operating condition and standardization of two spectrographs and x-ray analyzer, shears, and argon supply * Maintain operating condition and standardization of saws and other equipment required for in-process and product testing * Clean and calibrate tensile test machine and other tools as required in accordance with established practice and procedures * Communicate with caster supervisor concerning hardness of softener water and alert appropriate * Detect and report nonconforming material and deviations from specifications to supervisor * Initiate containment, support root cause investigation, and disposition activities * Support product operations with non-conforming test results and non-standard billet grade usage * Any other tasks as assigned by supervisor What You'll Need * Use math and knowledge of the job to determine if product is within specs * Must have Intermediate skills with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc), * Experience with QMOS, and SAP Preferred * Capable to perform the physical requirements of the job (lift 35-50 lbs) * Able to work well and efficiently in teams and cross-functional activities * Must have an excellent work ethic, attention to detail, communication and organizational skills * Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift which may include weekend and holiday * Previous experience in Quality Control preferred * Ability to work in non-climate controlled environment Your Education * High School Diploma or GED required We are CMC, a Fortune 500 company at the leading edge of our industry. What You'll Do * Responsibility includes all available predictive technologies: Thermography, Oil Analysis, Vibration, Ultrasonic, etc. * Determines sampling frequency, triggers, routes and methods for maintaining information. * Utilizes predictive maintenance tools to aid in troubleshooting equipment. * Reports health of equipment Monthly including a plan to monitor any equipment with potential problems. * Monitor and analyze equipment performance data to identify trends and root causes of equipment failures * Standardize PM Procedures and frequencies based on OEM guidelines, historical data, and criticality assessments * Works with Garage staff and technicians to identify where and when to apply different technologies * Collaborate with Engineering and Operations on equipment upgrades and capital projects with a focus on maintainability and reliability * Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability and uptime * Maintain accurate and up to date records in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) What You'll Need * Thorough understanding of predictive maintenance principles, technologies, and associated tools * Practical knowledge of mechanical and electrical applications, and common industrial processes * Technical skills: in depth understanding of machinery and maintenance techniques, ability to read blueprints and schematics. * Strong working knowledge of CMMS systems (e.g., SAP, Maximo, MP2, etc.) experience preferred * Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical prints and diagrams * Ability to lead a project from design through installation and start up, including associated operational and maintenance training * Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment, with a strong work ethic and attention to detail to find root cause for equipment failures * Team building and supervisory skills leading project teams and comfortable with supervising technical and non-technical personnel * Computer skills: Outlook, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, computerized document management systems, internet, and SAP. * Strong written and verbal communication skills Your Education * High School Diploma or GED required * BS Degree (Engineering or Technical Discipline), equivalent trade school associate degree, or equivalent work experience preferred We are CMC, a Fortune 500 company at the leading edge of our industry. What You'll Do * Once a job is assigned this role accepts full responsibility for management of the forecasting, submittal schedule, delivery schedule, and overall job health * Serve as the primary point of contact for CMC * Review project proposal/plans/specifications to proactively identify risks, delays, or issues and communicate cost-effective solutions * Resolve daily issues that may arise effectively to ensure a timely, safe, and profitable project * Write and review RFIs for cost impact * Maintain project reports for management and customers * Interact daily with various departments to ensure contract obligations are met * Jobsite visits & meetings as needed What You'll Need * 2+ years of experience in project coordination, project management or construction related field * Rebar, concrete, and general contracting experience, highly preferred * Ability to read and understand contract documents and drawings * Solid understanding of project costs/cost control with strong financial and business acumen * Strong communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal * Strong scheduling, planning, organizing, problem solving, time managing, and prioritizing work skills * Proficient in MS Office programs - Outlook, Word, Excel Your Education * High School Diploma or GED required * Bachelor's Degree preferred, but not required. What You'll Do * Train in all areas of the Melt Shop to include Furnace, Ladle Furnace, Casting Machine, and Refractories * Read, interpret, and utilize manuals, drawings, and schematics * Operate mobile equipment such as Forklifts, overhead cranes, etc * Interpret all operational procedures and parameters including Job Safety Analysis and Work Instructions * Ensure equipment inspection reports are filled out each shift * Participate in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety Culture * Work safely to prevent on the job injuries by following safety rules and regulations at all times including proper wearing of company PPE * Ability to troubleshoot work related problems using job knowledge, experience, and by communicating with others * Responsible for daily housekeeping duties including but not limited to immediate work area * Understand start up, shutdown, and emergency procedures * All other duties as assigned What You'll Need * Minimum 1 year field experience in either heavy industrial operations and/or manufacturing environment preferred * Must be able to work a 12 hour shift, which includes overtime, weekends and holidays * Demonstrate dependability in attendance, work completions, and flexibility to meet business needs * Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs * Ability to work with exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dust fumes and mists, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spaces * Ability to stand for duration of a shift, up to 12 hours; frequent physical activity such as walking, climbing stairs or reaching to work with equipment throughout the entire shift * Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment, with excellent strong work ethic, attention to detail, and organizational skills * Ability to learn quickly and multitask required * Strong communication skills required.
