Required Qualifications

The position of Head Coach (HC) is seen as an integral role within the West Coast Fitness (WCF) organization and is an extension of the Studio Leadership Team. They are responsible for the oversight of Coaches within their designated home studio with a special focus on growing the culture, community, and development of their studio coaches. The HC position is a full-time position that demands a top-tier leader to maintain and grow the overall success of their studios. The HC is a highly trusted individual with access to sensitive and confidential information. The HC is responsible for creating a positive, high-energy, respectful OTF studio environment with the utmost professionalism, tact, and discretion. The HC is primarily a developmental role focused on improving and maintaining the level of coaching and customer service in the fitness room within their location. The HC will also support the studio by managing the class schedule, coach staffing, and onboarding of new coaches. In addition, the HC is responsible for assessing the coaching staff's performance and implementing roster changes when/if needed and/or appropriate. This is an hourly role with monthly bonus opportunities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Coach Orangetheory classes, minimum of 14 classes per week
Use discretionary judgment to ensure OTF brand standards are being followed and communicated with the Regional Fitness Manager (supervisor)
Create and promote a fun, safe, and collaborative working environment for all staff
Work with the Regional Team and Director to optimize class schedule offerings
Support with coordinating schedule updates with the management team (such as class subs) and fitness staffing with Regional Fitness Manager
Submit a weekly schedule outlining work hours and activities that will be performed within the week to ensure the execution of studio goals and establish non-working hours
Weekly meetings with your studio management team
Perform quarterly reviews of fitness coaches and provide mentoring for improvement each week
Maintain, update, and submit Coach Roadmap Tracker per deadlines
Assist with studio compliance audits as needed. This includes assisting and auditing entire studio operations
Track and submit payroll for your coaching team
Attend and help plan a minimum of (1) community event per month per studio and ensure Fitness has a presence
Attend quarterly Regional Fitness Workshop
Uphold studio cleanliness & culture standards
Engage and monitor internal company communication via Slack
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
: Successful completion of the OTFit Certification; (preferred) minimum 6+ months experience as a leader in the fitness industry; minimum of 1year as an OTF Fitness Coach; hold and maintain a current fitness certification from an education company approved by Orangetheory Fitness: ACE, NASM, AFAA, NSCA, ACSM; current AED/CPR certificate; 10+ hours per year in continuing education units outside of OTF curriculum; Bachelor's Degree in an Exercise Science related field a plus

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Leading and motivating members through pre-defined workouts
Helping members set and achieve goals
Making sure members are using the correct form and offering corrections if they aren't
Understanding the science behind our workouts specifically, heart-rate-focused training programs in general, and being aware of what the competition is doing
Being a team player
Availability to coach a minimum of 8 classes/week
Willingness to immerse yourself in studio culture
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
: Hold and maintain a current fitness certification from an education company approved by Orangetheory Fitness: ACE, NASM, AFAA, NSCA, ACSM, ISSA; current AED/CPR certificate; 10+ hours per year in continuing education units outside of OTF curriculum
Knowledge + Experience:
Intermediate knowledge of physiology, exercise technique, and body mechanics; functional understanding of heart rate-based training; 2 years of experience as a group or individual personal trainer preferred; Microsoft Office and Outlook a plus
Soft Skills:
Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills; ability to multi-task; excellent customer service skills; team player mindset

Fitness Coaches are leaders of the Orangetheory workouts. This requires them to be on their feet leading and instructing members for the entirety of the workout. In the weight room, coaches must demonstrate all exercises for members, which can involve Bosu trainers, medicine balls, dumbbells, TRX, mini bands or other fitness equipment.
