These general approaches will be specifically addressed using for major methods: Community Violence Intervention (CVI) / Street Outreach, Individualized Service Provision, Victim Support Services, and Nonviolence Training. About the SC2 Collaborative The Institute for Nonviolence Chicago is serving as the hub for the Scaling Up (SC2) initiative in the Austin community. The SC2 Austin Collaborative came together to begin scaling their promising programs throughout Austin to achieve community-level violence reduction by scaling up services to individuals at highest risk of violence. This unprecedented level of coordination, alignment, and investment in direct service provision to the highest risk individuals will not only provide lessons for local replication but may also serve as a model that can be deployed in other cities across the nation. POSITION OVERVIEW: Reporting to the Associate Director of Reentry & Support Services, the SC2 Life Coach works directly with high-risk individuals in the community and accompanies them as they navigate the challenges associated to current or past involvement with the criminal justice system, work to establish a healthy and stable lifestyle, and overcome barriers to accomplishing their professional goals. This position not only provides services and resources to help achieve established goals, but also uses first-hand knowledge of the community to develop and maintain meaningful and effective relationships with participants, responds in the community as crises arise and draws out participant motivation to reach his/her potential. The SC2 Life Coach models prosocial behaviors and successful interpersonal relationships, provides the accountability necessary to achieving established goals, and mentors participants as they receive supportive services and attend court dates. As such, this role is a critical component of the long-term success of the SC2 Austin Collaborative. This position may also be a member of a Violence Prevention-Community Support Team (VP-CST), an innovative effort to provide trauma-informed therapeutic interventions to individuals who have experienced chronic exposure to firearm violence. VP-CST teams are comprised of an outreach worker, life coach and clinician.     Athletics/Soccer Referee Job Summary Under the direction and supervision of the Recreation Manager and/or the Referee Coordinator, Soccer Referees are responsible for officiating Soccer games in a fair and safe manner. Soccer Referees are responsible for performing the essential functions as outlined below. This is a part-time position with hours scheduled primarily weekends (Saturdays) and weekdays as needed. Hours will vary but will not exceed 19 per week. This is an at-will position. Classification Part Time, Non-Exempt, Non-IMRF eligible Qualifications Candidate must be at least 16 years of age. Candidate must have completed a minimum of two years of high school. Preference given to candidates with previous refereeing experience. Candidate must be task-oriented, organized, energetic and detailed. Candidate must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with patrons, the public, co-workers and supervisors. Candidate must be First Aid, CPR, and AED certified within (3) months of hiring. Candidate must receive a valid Soccer Referee Certification within (3) months of hiring. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Employee must arrive 30 minutes prior to league play. Employee must read all rules pertaining to Streamwood Park District Soccer League Employee must speak to coaches before the start of the game and answer any questions if asked in a cordial and respectful manner. Employee must supervise and maintain the safety of the field. Employee must inspect the field and call the Referee Coordinator and/or Recreation Manager in the event that the field is unplayable and the game will be cancelled. Employee must care for and maintain all field equipment and property used by the program. Employee must document any major safety issues with the Recreation Manager and/or Referee Coordinator for repair. Employees must have the appropriate knowledge of the IHSA soccer rules as well as NISL standards. Employees must enforce the rules in a fair and reasonable manner. Employees must have a copy of the rules available to them at each game at scorekeeper table. Employee must wear patched Soccer referee shirt for all games. Employee must perform all job tasks within the rules and guidelines of the Streamwood Park District's safety program. Secondary Duties & Responsibilities Employee must attend and contribute to referee meetings. Employee must maintain a positive relationship with co-workers, participants, coaches and parents. Employee is responsible for managing property and equipment through ensuring appropriate levels of safety and cleanliness. Employee must maintain positive attitude and be supportive of the Park District. Employee must maintain an appropriate customer service attitude and refrain from using foul language. Employee must adhere to Park District policies and procedures as set forth in the PartTime and Seasonal Personnel Policies Manual. Employee must be available for other duties as assigned and/or needed. Cognitive Considerations Employee must demonstrate a basic knowledge of athletics. Employee must be able to follow directions and communicate in English both verbally and in writing.
