POSITION PURPOSE
The Senior Project Drafter designs and prepares complete and accurate erection drawings, shop tickets, material requisitions and revisions for complex projects, integrating skilled architectural/engineering drafting methods, and procedures with the operation and application of computer-aided design (CAD) equipment and software.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides leadership and direction to project drafters
Design and prepare electronic (CAD) erection drawings, shop tickets, and material requisitions from contract drawings and engineering calculations
Interface with departmental personnel to obtain details of equipment and materials requirements
Prepare plans, elevations, sections, and material requirements from sketches, specifications, contract drawings and responses to requests for information provided by architects, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, and Metromonts internal project management team
Consult with engineers and project managers as needed to resolve questions
Revise computer-aided designs and documents to comply with comments and changes to project scope
Provide technical guidance to the Project Drafter regarding coordination of details between shop tickets and erection drawings

Serves as a lead in providing direction to drafters

Job Summary:
Project Designers are instrumental in developing the plans that best meet our client's business goals. They take ownership of the documents and manage the workflow, content and incorporation of engineering discipline information from inception through completion. The Project Designer works closely with the Project Architect and in-house Engineers to develop plans and details as the projects move through programming and detailed design.
General Duties:
Production of Architectural Construction Documents using Revit Architecture
Ensure construction documents are completed in accordance with the Primus standard workflow.
Partner with internal and external customers as needed for the project.
Manage and maintain the Revit model to ensure conformance with Primus standards.
Incorporate information and files from other disciplines into the construction documents.
Participate in all design meetings for assigned projects.
Basic building code analysis to ensure compliance.
Assist Architects with conceptual site and building designs.
Periodically visit local construction sites for observation purposes.
Complete record documents at the direction of the Architect.
Create Revit families for current and future design.
Make revisions to the Revit model based on clash detection results at the direction of the Architect.
Coordinate the model with Point Cloud information.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor or Masters of Architecture (preferred)
On path for professional license (preferred)
3-5 years of experience creating architectural construction documents with Revit Architecture
Experience with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam
Experience with Design/Build delivery method preferred
Experience with cold storage, warehouse and industrial projects preferred

Job Description**We are looking for Mid to Senior Level Designers - Onsite**About the Job
Responsibilities will include, but not limited to, layout of process and utility equipment in 2D equipment arrangements, creating Process Mechanical drawings using the 2D AutoCAD, 3D modeling of process and utility equipment, full 3D design of process and utility piping systems per PIDs and Process Engineer(s) direction, creating piping drawings using the 3D models for bidding and construction purposes, equipment access and support platform design, pipe support systems, and extensive coordination of process piping and process mechanical designs with the entire facility design team.
Essential Functions
Equipment Layout Design - 2D and 3D.
Platform Design - Conceptual design for review by Structural Engineer.
Piping and Instrumentation Drawing - Understanding of and ability to create, must be able to create piping drawings from PIDs and equipment arrangements.
Gather and organize information for developing design drawings; visit client sites as needed to understand existing equipment arrangements and piping systems.
Oversee all aspects and details of process and utility piping.
Communication Skills - Work with the architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical and control disciplines in the overall design coordination.
Prepare general arrangements, plans, elevations, isometrics and details for use in bid packaging and construction.
Execute 3D model reviews with client using Navisworks.
Assist construction managers with coordination issues in the field.
About You
4-10 years of piping and equipment layout experience
Familiarity with XREFS and basic drawing setup
Requisite proficiency in AutoCAD
3D experience using CADWorx, Plant3D or similar programs, Revit piping experience a plus.
4-10 years of interpreting PIDs and transpose that information into a piping layout.
Experience with design of Food and Beverage processes a plus
Travel to client construction sites will be required of this position. Candidates should expect overnight travel not less than 20% of the year.

Qualifications
Associate's Degree (or equivalent) and 6 or more years experience OR Bachelor's Degree with 2+ years drafting mechanical and structural drawings
Must have experience in AutoCAD 3D modeling with Plant 3D software
Be able to use Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
The candidate should have a general knowledge of Industrial equipment such as valve types, pump types, exchangers, etc
Ability to travel between 10-20% of the time; duration of travel may vary depending on project and client needs
