POSITION PURPOSE
The Senior Project Drafter designs and prepares complete and accurate erection drawings, shop tickets, material requisitions and revisions for complex projects, integrating skilled architectural/engineering drafting methods, and procedures with the operation and application of computer-aided design (CAD) equipment and software.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides leadership and direction to project drafters
Design and prepare electronic (CAD) erection drawings, shop tickets, and material requisitions from contract drawings and engineering calculations
Interface with departmental personnel to obtain details of equipment and materials requirements
Prepare plans, elevations, sections, and material requirements from sketches, specifications, contract drawings and responses to requests for information provided by architects, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, and Metromonts internal project management team

Revise computer-aided designs and documents to comply with comments and changes to project scope
Provide technical guidance to the Project Drafter regarding coordination of details between shop tickets and erection drawings

A solid background in 3-D modeling techniques
Previous PC experience a must, including intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and AutoDesk (AutoCAD and Inventor)
Understanding of the end use of the product and knowledge of the fabrication and manufacturing processes used to make the product
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret customer specifications, plans and other order information to determine the format required to complete customer orders

High level of proficiency regarding Valmont's drafting processes and systems

Essential Functions of the Position

Job Description
The CAD Operator is responsible for design and drafting of all CAD drawings in a clear andlogical manner. Responsibilities also include ensuring all drawings are formatted to company standards. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
