JOB TITLE: Drafter REPORTS TO: Lead Design Engineer FLSA: Non-exempt JOB SUMMARY: This role provides drafting support to the Design Engineers, Mold Designers, Project Engineers, Automation Engineers, and Quality Engineers. Primary responsibilities will be creating precise 2D/3D technical drawings and models using Solidworks software, translating concepts into detailed plans for tool designs that will enable the production of equipment and tools needed to manufacture plastic injection molded components and subassemblies. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Produce detailed 2D/3D drawings, schematics, and models using Solidworks. Work closely with engineers to understand project requirements. Ensure designs meet specifications and quality standards. Attend Design Review meetings with technical team. Implement changes from redlines, edit existing drawings, and prepare final sets for submission. Review other mold and automation designs and drawings. Estimate material quantities and sometimes costs for designs. Create manuals and documentation for existing products or designs. Performs other duties as required.
