Fast-paced manufacturer is seeking a Mechanical Product Design Engineer to work in their product engineering department. As the Mechanical Product Design Engineer, you will report to the Engineering Supervisor and will be responsible for the following tasks:
Utilize 3D modeling software to create mechanical designs based on new and existing product lines
Ensure product manufacturability for all designs
Make modifications to current mechanical designs
Ensure that the product launch checklist is completed in a timely manner
Complete bill of materials for design projects and enter into the ERP system
Focus on VA/VE and multiple continuous improvement projects to improve production and reduce product cost

Drafter/designer
Computer aided design designer job in Cleveland, OH
* Works with Lead Project Engineer and other project team members to transform new product ideas and requirements into a prototype or pilot design * Uses 3D tools to digitally prototype * Develop 3D design models based on concepts, sketches or previous designs to create detailed drawings, focusing on core manufacturing capabilities
* Conceptualizes sheet metal design through the use of either 2 or 3D tools ensuring tolerancing
* Propose assembly and\or fabrication techniques and develop the new product's mechanical, physical and other attributes to ensure design is manufacturable
* Presents, or co-presents with Lead Project Engineer model designs for technical review or design reviews
* Prepare comprehensive document packages for manufacturing release, including assembly drawings, Bills-of-materials and machine files
Must Have
* 3+ years plus of experience developing and creating in the electrical-mechanical products space
* Experience in both 2D and 3D modeling software
* 3D CAD, Creo or Solid works/Inventor experience
* Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
Nice to Have
* Experience designing to UL, CSA, NEC, and other safety agency requirements
* Bachelors degree in Engineering or Computer Aided Design (CAD) preferred, Associate Degree in Engineering or CAD
* Machine tool programming experience
* Experience working with sheet metal

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $36.00/hr.
