WCC is establishing a pool of qualified candidates to be considered when part-time and/or on-call instructors are needed to teach Advanced Manufacturing Department credit courses. Needs may become available prior to or during each semester. How you will do it:

* Define and document simulation requirements and deliverables in Supplier Statements of Work (SSOWs) and RFPs.
* Support virtual commissioning, emulation, predictive maintenance, and optimization of manufacturing systems using digital twin platforms, including extensibility for XR (AR/VR) training.
* Analyze simulation results and proactively identify opportunities for process improvement, leveraging data analytics and AI/ML models for complex simulations.
* Ensure digital twin models include all required functional components, actuators, sensors, and closed-loop controls, and are designed for global scalability and adaptability across Clarios facilities.
* Document changes to models and environments for traceability and compliance with IP protection frameworks and data security requirements.
* Lead the adoption of digital twin and simulation best practices, share knowledge, mentor peers, and help build a community of practice.

Architecture and Design Engagement Lead - Special Studio
General Purpose:
Special Studio is the custom product design studio offering the service of product development to MillerKnoll clients, specifically A&D. Works with A&D clients, our internal Studio team, designers, dealers and sales to deliver creative and profitable products that solve our clients' problems. Works with A&D to determine the needs of the opportunity, vet the opportunity to determine its strategic alignment with our Sales Partners and direct appropriate work through the Tailored Studio Process. Would also engage in creative responses and work with the Design lead identifying possible product responses to said design brief, generate ROM / budgetary pricing and project timelines for response to customer. Vet A&D opportunities to validate the team is supporting the most strategic initiatives of the organization. As the Voice of the Customer for A&D you will also work to tell the story of the Custom Studio to both internal and external parties in collaboration with MK marketing teams. Emphasis on teamwork, leadership, creativity, ability to delegate work to proper MK resources/partners and approaching project objectives with a business development attitude, bent for commercial success of the studio and MillerKnoll.
Essential Function:
Architecture, Furniture Sales, or Interior Design background and familiarity with the A&D process and how to navigate co-creation around bespoke solutions.
Efficiently filter work with Studio Leadership to determine best course for MillerKnoll success whether it's a creative studio development engagement, efficient reuse, or redirection to MK standard product or other better fitting resources.

Conduct thorough QA/QC documentation reviews to ensure deliverables meet SSOE quality standards and external code requirements prior to client submission.
Participate in interdisciplinary design review sessions, incorporating feedback from project management, discipline leads, and client representatives to maintain alignment and manage scope changes.
Conduct site walks to validate equipment installation, perform field inspections, and inform corrective action plans.
Assist in the development of project-specific documentation including BOMs, equipment data sheets, and maintenance manuals.
Utilize version control and change management protocols to track design revisions and maintain project records in compliance with company policies.
Contribute to risk management by identifying potential design or operational hazards and suggesting mitigation strategies during design phases.
Communicate effectively with cross-disciplinary teams, clients, and contractors through clear, concise technical reports, meeting presentations, and written correspondence.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of manufacturing technologies, automation trends, and emerging design tools relevant to machine design and material handling.
Qualifications
Minimum 7 years of mechanical design experience specializing in machine design and material handling equipment within the manufacturing or industrial sectors.
Proficient in AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor for 3D modeling, detail drawings, and fabrication documentation.
Demonstrated expertise designing fabrication weldments and structural supports compliant with AWS D1.1 and ANSI machinery safety standards.
Familiar with process and utility layouts, referencing PFDs, PIDs, and plant utility systems to coordinate machine interfaces effectively.
Solid understanding of mechanical design calculations related to load analysis, stress, deflection, and weld integrity.
Experience collaborating with project managers, discipline leads, engineers, and other designers in a multidisciplinary AEC/EPC environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills capable of producing technically rigorous documentation and effectively presenting complex concepts.
Detail-oriented with a proven track record of meeting quality and safety standards under tight project schedules.
Salary Range: $85,000 - $90,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position. Opportunity for ample rewards and generous bonus opportunities.

Preferred Qualifications (not required)
Experience with SolidWorks as an alternative CAD platform.
Familiarity with other design software such as Navisworks or Plant 3D software and its application in piping and equipment utilities design.
Knowledge of fabrication and assembly processes, commissioning/startup support, and constructability reviews in industrial projects.
Exposure to process piping design, including familiarity with ASME B31.3 code and equipment utility systems such as compressed air, chilled water, or vacuum.
Prior involvement in mentoring junior designers or engineers, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.
Strong cost and schedule awareness that contributes to value engineering and optimization efforts on projects.

Design, develop, and validate components and systems related to gearbox, driveline, and transmission products
Collaborate closely with cross-functional Propulsion System and Vehicle Engineering teams, including:

Qualifications
B.S. Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering Degree
8-12 years of engineering experience in gearbox design
including gear specification, shaft layouts, bearing selection, spline rating, housing design, seal selection, actuation methods, lubrication methods, and more related to gearbox design
An understanding of transmission & driveline operation and the interaction between gears, clutches, and electrohydraulic components
Proficient in at least one major CAD package (NX, CATIA, CREO, SOLIDWORKS)
Understanding of the manufacturing processes used for the variety of components within a gearbox or transmission
Must have excellent communication and presentation skills as well as experience with basic PC software (e.g. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project)
Candidate must be highly motivated, self-directed, have the ability to manage multiple complex projects, and have a positive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficient in multiple major CAD packages (NX, CATIA, CREO, SOLIDWORKS)
Experience with gearbox design and rating packages (KISSsoft, MASTA, ROMAX, etc)
Experience with CAE tools relating to static strength and durability analysis
Experience with controls, efficiency, and/or thermal management is desired
