We're looking for a hands-on CAD Designer with strong ECAD experience to help turn complex electrical designs into manufacturable products. In this role, you'll bridge electrical and mechanical design, creating high-precision models and drawings that bring our flexible circuits, harnesses, and power distribution products to life. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Design and update 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings of flexible printed circuits (FPCs), interconnects, and harness components. Support electrical layout and ECAD documentation using tools such as Cadence Allegro, OrCAD, or similar ECAD software, ensuring consistency between electrical schematics and mechanical layouts. Translate electrical design intent into accurate mechanical representations for manufacturing. Incorporate DFM feedback and design guidelines to ensure manufacturability and reliability. Create and maintain engineering documentation, including BOMs, fabrication drawings, and revision-controlled data packages. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Design, Manufacturing, and Quality) to resolve design and build issues. Perform CAD data transfer and integration between ECAD and MCAD systems. Support prototype builds, design reviews, and release processes. Work effectively with teams across multiple time zones. Additional duties as assigned. Educational Requirements 3+ years of CAD design experience, ideally in electrical, automotive, or electronics manufacturing environments. Proficiency with 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks or NX preferred) and strong working knowledge of ECAD tools (Cadence Allegro, OrCAD, or equivalent). As part of a cross functional Engineering team, the Design Engineer will work throughout the conceptual stage, the design process, the testing phase, and through production launch and industrialization. The Design Engineer will be involved in developing new products and product extensions to compliment and support current product lines. CORE FUNCTIONS · Plan, conceptualize, and develop designs to effectively support existing and new product offerings. · Develop testing processes and perform testing and validation of new designs. · Coordinate with development team on concept realization and feasibility using SolidWorks modeling, and rapid prototyping methodologies.
