What You'll Do: Order Review and Design Accuracy Review new orders, comparing specifications to proposals, and resolve discrepancies with the sales team. Conduct thorough checks for errors or omissions to ensure alignment with project requirements. Component Selection and Design Select appropriate components from manufacturer catalogs and generate purchase requisitions. Prepare arrangement and layout drawings, verifying completeness and correctness before customer approval. Customer and Vendor Collaboration Interface with customers to address design-related queries and obtain approvals. Communicate with vendors to answer questions and resolve issues with purchased items. Detail Drawing and Oversight Check detail drawings prepared by junior designers for accuracy and completeness. Prepare detail drawings as needed to ensure project timelines are met. On-Site Verification and Problem-Solving Visit customer facilities to review projects, verify dimensions, and inspect equipment. Collaborate with shop personnel to resolve manufacturing challenges. What We're Looking For: Qualifications: Education: A 2-year technical school degree in Mechanical Design/Engineering is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred. Experience: 3-5 years of mechanical design experience in heavy equipment or related industries. Skills: Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks. Strong knowledge of structural and mechanical design principles. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Key Attributes: Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
