Major Responsibilities
Building layout in Smart Plant (SP3D) model environment.
Modeling of piping, HVAC, and equipment in the 3D model environment.
Preparation of drawings/documents for floor plans.
Assist with coordination of 3D model activities, (i.e. input, interference reconciliation, etc.) with other physical related disciplines.
Interface with pipe stress and pipe support engineers, construction, and suppliers during the preparation of designs for the purpose of model/space control, etc.
Perform coordination review of specifications and other documents prepared by others.
Plans, develops, coordinates, and reviews design work within a small-size Plant Design and Piping (PD&P) design work group.
Produces drawings and documentation in accordance with established design and scope including foundation design and steel detailing.
Ensures PD&P systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards.
Coordinates and interfaces as directed with the day-to-day technical work of PD&P engineers, scientists, specialists, designers, and drafters.
Communicates complex technical issues and recommends solutions to upper management.
Facilitates technical discussions with third parties (client, suppliers, regulators).
Prepares or oversees the preparation of PD&P design estimates and work plan in accordance with project scope, schedule and budget, and manages implementation and performance accordingly.

The High Voltage Engineering team delivers both pre-construction development engineering and execution engineering for High Voltage facilities associated with renewable energy power plants. Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
* Develop up to a 30% substation package in AutoCAD and/or Bluebeam ranging from 35kV up to 500kV. This includes single line diagrams, substation layouts, control building layouts, electrical elevation views, substation access, site access, relay panel elevations, etc.
* Support Transmission Line Engineering with drafting needs by developing technical exhibits showing transmission structure pole designs.
* Develop a substation and transmission CAD design standardization process to expedite design timelines.

* Coordinate with HV Project Engineer/Substation Lead and Main Power Transformer manufacturer to ensure enough turn radius and site access is available for equipment delivery.
* Work collaboratively with HV Project Engineer/Transmission Leads to ensure transmission pole designs, Right of Ways (ROWs), and existent transmission line crossings are well represented in RFP exhibit documents.
* Develop a documentation control scheme to ensure project drafting and engineering documentation are successfully uploaded to AES project data rooms.
* Review external consultant substation designs with an emphasis on respecting minimum clearances, structure design, and electrical components.

Qualifications & Skills
Preferred: 2-4 years of sheet metal and design experience.
Preferred: 2 year certification in design or engineering field or 4 year degree.
Preferred: CSWP Certificate.
Strong computer and design software skills are required. Solidworks experience is preferred (Inventor or PTC Creo (Pro/Engineer) will also be considered).
Excellent work ethic and high-quality productivity output.
Ability to focus on continuous improvement by analyzing situations and improving processes
Competent understanding of standard manufacturing techniques (sheet metal working, welding, powder coating, etc.)
Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and processes involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
Responsibilities & Duties
Create, draw, and revise 3D models, production drawings, designs, and sketches.
Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and mechanical blueprints.
Utilize knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, and building materials to complete drawings.
Make final detailed 2D Documentation of proposed designs while regarding materials to be used, checking dimension of parts, relation of one part to another, and relation of parts to whole structure or project.
Draft detailed multi-view drawings of products.
Evaluate manufacturability of design ideas based on factors such as appearance, safety, functionality, sustainability, budget, production resources, costs, methods, and market characteristics.
Schedule & Pay
Full-Time Swing Shift: Monday-Thursday 4:00 pm - 2:30 am. Hours may vary based on business needs, and occasional Friday shifts may be required.
Part-Time Swing Shift: Flexible hours between Monday-Friday 4:00 pm - 2:30 am.
$22-28 per hour, depending on experience and skill set.
