POSITION PURPOSE
The Senior Project Drafter designs and prepares complete and accurate erection drawings, shop tickets, material requisitions and revisions for complex projects, integrating skilled architectural/engineering drafting methods, and procedures with the operation and application of computer-aided design (CAD) equipment and software.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides leadership and direction to project drafters
Design and prepare electronic (CAD) erection drawings, shop tickets, and material requisitions from contract drawings and engineering calculations
Interface with departmental personnel to obtain details of equipment and materials requirements
Prepare plans, elevations, sections, and material requirements from sketches, specifications, contract drawings and responses to requests for information provided by architects, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, and Metromonts internal project management team
Consult with engineers and project managers as needed to resolve questions
Revise computer-aided designs and documents to comply with comments and changes to project scope
Provide technical guidance to the Project Drafter regarding coordination of details between shop tickets and erection drawings
Coordinates drafting work with engineers and architects
Serves as a lead in providing direction to drafters

You are a mechanical and piping designer skilled at 2D and 3D modeling and design. As a successful candidate, you will design complex mechanical/piping systems for industrial facilities.
A Day in the Life
Produce mechanical/piping layout drawings, piping isometric drawings, tank data sheets, process and instrumentation/control diagrams, specifications and details, and bills of materials
Adhere to company procedures, engineering criteria, design standards, and applicable codes
Work within both 2D and 3D model environments
Interface regularly with other disciplines, vendors, and customers
Conduct field visits to client facilities to collect site data, support construction, commissioning, and start-up, and foster and maintain strong relationships with our clients.
What You'll Bring to the Team
Associates degree in Engineering Technology in Mechanical or Piping, Post Secondary degree is preferred, or equivalent industry experience
5+ years of relevant experience in mechanical and piping design, preferably in a consulting environment for chemical, or pulp and paper industries
Experience in the generation of 2D drawings, 3D modeling, isometrics, and material take-offs
Experience using AutoCAD Plant 3D and Navisworks is an asset
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and proven ability to collaborate with team members in a multi-disciplined environment
Technical competence and strong attention to detail

This is a full-time, on-site role for a New Product Designer located in Conyers, GA, with a strong focus on design, innovation and product development aesthetics. This role combines client facing responsibilities with hands-on design leadership. This role involves managing the needs of existing contract manufacturing clients while also securing new opportunities. The role will be a liaison between clients and MGM manufacturing team. They will support product revisions, and update packaging, and literature, while also generating and developing new product ideas that align with market needs. They will also lead and/or build a team that is focused on innovation, concept design and effective visual and technical communication.
Secondly as a New Product Designer, there will be engagements with engineering teams to transition product concepts into formal NPI projects. This includes creating requirement and specification documents, handing off CAD solids and drawings, and ensuring that the original vision from inventors or innovation teams is maintained. They must communicate new product concepts and associated benefits for review by customers.
It is important for the candidate to have strong project management skills as well as 3D modeling skills.
