Coinbase is looking for an Analyst, Tech Controls to support the second line of defense technology compliance initiatives. This role will play a critical part in assisting with the design, implementation, and monitoring of a technology control framework. The Analyst will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure excellence in control ownership and contribute to the maturity of the Technology Risk and Controls program. *What you'll be doing (ie. job duties):* * Lead IT process and gap assessments against industry standards and technology regulatory requirements to evaluate control design and operating effectiveness * Design, review and validate processes and configurations across technology systems, including cloud environments, operating systems, databases, and network infrastructure, to ensure alignment with established standards, compliance requirements, and best practices * Assist in maintaining and providing oversight over the technology controls inventory to mitigate technology risks and meet regulatory requirements, technology policies, and frameworks * Collaborate with stakeholder teams including Security, Engineering, Technology Governance, IT, and Operational Risk to support technology requirements and ensure control ownership * Developing technology requirements for new products, updating existing controls, and providing subject matter expertise to product teams * Support Security Compliance, Information Security, Platform, and Engineering stakeholders in identifying and executing on continuous control monitoring opportunities * Provide guidance and leverage technical expertise to determine effectiveness of change management processes, i.e. unit testing, CI/CD, etc. * Define, draft and communicate identified issues and technology process improvement opportunities and assist in developing creative solutions to mitigate risks and address regulatory challenges * Provide reporting to stakeholders and management on progress, escalations, and control initiatives * Drive the creation of procedural documentation, including training materials that support first line of defense risk management, in the form of runbooks and narratives * Validate remediation efforts for identified gaps and issues to ensure resolution effectively aligns with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies * Drive creation of clear and concise technical documentation for control monitoring *What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):* * Minimum of 2+ years of experience in Security Engineering, Technology Compliance, IT audit, or equivalent roles * Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in technology frameworks such as COBIT, NIST, ISO 27001 * Hands on experience in security engineering, implementing security frameworks, or designing and managing technical controls * Proven technical understanding and operation within cloud technologies, AWS preferred * Strong understanding of control monitoring processes * Excellent oral and written communication skills * Ability to effectively and autonomously accomplish outcomes across cross-functional teams in ambiguous situations with limited supervision * Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment * Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to align on shared outcomes *Nice to haves:* * BA or BS in a technical field or equivalent experience * Cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Security Specialty, or equivalent certifications * Security certifications e.g. CISA, CISSP, COBIT or other relevant certifications * Technical understanding of fintech services and/or crypto space Position ID: P60079 \#LI-Remote *Pay Transparency Notice:* Depending on your work location, the target annual salary for this position can range as detailed below. The Underground Electrical Lead hand reports to the Underground Electrical Supervisor, with the primary role being to lead the Underground Electrical team in a safe and productive work environment by ensuring all work practices / procedures meet statutory, Company OHS&E and Company operational standards within the Maintenance Department. Duties include: * Coordinate the daily management, control and supervision of the work and work areas of the Underground Electrical operations in accordance with Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) Act & Regulations. * Undertake diagnostic, breakdown, repairs, follow-up work and PMs of electrical infrastructure, dewatering infrastructure and telemetry to a high standard of execution. Ensure all work is completed in a safe and timely manner to a high standard. * Attend daily pre-start meeting to ensure effective communication and handovers between crews regarding electrical maintenance plans, and see that issue are completed in detail. * Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in all work areas and hold the team accountable for this. * Rigorous cost management. Avoid rework and unnecessary use of parts/services. * Provide technical advice and support to fellow Electrical Team members. * Ensure workmanship through meeting standards and tolerances and testing of equipment prior to handover. * Attend weekly scheduling/planning 721 meeting with NSMS Mining Department and NSR Tech Services. * Follow the 721-mining plan, plan jobs effectively and efficiently, gather all materials required and direct team to complete tasks in a safe and timely matter. * Ensure installation of underground electrical reticulation and infrastructure is completed to a high standard and all required testing and documentation are complete. * Conduct daily handover with incoming/outgoing Leading Hand. * Liaise with Electrical Supervisor regarding planned work for each shift, including daily priorities, relevant documentation and updates throughout the shift. * Host daily line-out and 5-STARR meeting. * Liaise with Underground Shift Supervisors regarding underground machine, electrical infrastructure breakdowns/power outages and other plans for the upcoming shift. * Delegate unplanned work as it arises. * Create work orders for unplanned/additional work and generate pick slips as required. * Review all documentation prior to submission to Underground Electrical Supervisor. * Record and report on equipment downtime for planned and unplanned work. * Develop a succession plan for roles within the team. * Ensure all safety related activities are completed in accordance with Company policy such as Hazard IDs, pre-start checks, pre-start meetings, and incident reporting as required. * Complete monthly scheduled compliance work to a high standard. * Other duties as required. Qualifications required: * Minimum 7 years electrical experience; it is expected that a Leading Hand will qualify for Level 5 of the UG Electrician technical criteria, which is attached. * Proficient in prioritising work. * Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills. * Ability to manage a small team of electricians. * Competent in liaising with other departments. * Willingness and ability to relieve in Supervisor position. * Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and specifications. * Computer literacy - Microsoft Office, Pronto or similar Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). * Good communication skills. * Ability to problem-solve and manage conflicting priorities. * Current Driver's License. * Be able to pass a background check and post-offer physical. Desired Experiences and Competencies: * Electrical experience in the underground mining industry. * Demonstrated ability to maintain or exceed best industry practice in all maintenance tasks. * Flexibility to adapt to improved procedures and practices. * Awareness of the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) Act & Regulations. The Details: Working a 3 weeks on, 3 weeks off rotational schedule, up to 12 hours a day or more at a remote campsite. Extreme conditions, including but not limited to extreme and changing weather conditions, dust, mud, varying levels of noise, varying degrees of light and dark, in and around artificial light and in a confined work area. Employees are required to stay on site at the company provided camp during the work rotation. Camp facilities provide dining service, games room, exercise & weight room, sauna, and accommodation rooms. Dormitory rooms have a land line phone, great Wi-Fi & cable TV.
